  Extremely Clean. Excellent Hotel!

  The hotel was extremely clean which is a top priority for me. I think this was the cleanest room and hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were friendly. Area around the hotel is a bit rough but I didn’t feel unsafe walking in at night. There was a security guard. The gate in the back is closed at night and we had to drive pretty far down the road to get to other side of property. I wouldn’t want my car to break down in that area. The hotel was quiet. I didn’t hear any other guests or doors. Only noise I heard was from the traffic on the highway. The hotel is close to the gate for graduation which is nice if you have to return an airman on time. I hope I never have to visit San Antonio ever again but if I did I would stay here.   This property is located in an area with a bad reputation - but the hotel itself was fine. I did notice security in the parking lot - which I guess confirms the concerns about the area but also reassures that the property is addressing it.The room was ok. There was a full size fridge. The A/C and wifi were both good. The bathroom was ok - but the water pressure was pretty low.I thought the bed was a little soft and the room itself was a little tight with 2 queens crammed in so there was only bed access down the center and it was tight.The property was quiet. Interestingly, there was no breakfast offered or available. There was a little store and it's a short drive to restaurants.Overall it was fine for one night.   Perfect for attending BMT graduation!

  We stay here for our Airman's BMT graduation at Lackland. SO conveniently close to the base to avoid a lot of the traffic from being farther out/away from base. Amenities were great. Loved the full kitchen, especially the full fridge where we could freeze water bottles, etc. to stay hydrated in 103 degree temps (even higher heat index!) for those 2 days of ceremonies. Overall, would recommend!   We have stayed at this before only in Longmont Colorado for a night. This is lacking much. We stayed a week. The rooms were not cleaned weekly and no place to dump our garbage at all. Staff was ok, it seemed like they can check on things we need when staying a long time. Gave 3 coffees and 3 towels. Literally ONE half roll of toilet paper. No ice bucket. No blanket on the beds. Only a bedspread. The sticker ON YOUR DOOR SAYS dump garbage in recepticle at the end of the hall, there was none. No ice machine on each floor, you go to front desk area has a ice machine. This was a family event for BMT graduation and sadly disappointed for $500 checked in is ONLY at 3, no idea why they have lots of rooms long term stay, its not like they were busy cleaning. We saw no one in the daytime. The pool area was not anything two tables. The patio we wanted to enjoy but covered w cigarettes and butts and a smoking stand that is so gross when we wanted to grill. Tables and area obviously never washed or tables. They have 4 small tables. The carpwts smell like cat piss on 4th floor. We understand that not all travelers will be familiar with Candlewood Brand cleaning schedules. It is a once a week cleaning service for reservation staying over 7 nights. If our guest have any request for amenities or linen our team is well equipped and happily ready to assist you with anything you would require. Ice machines are not on guest floors as the rooms are equipped with Ice Makers in each of their rooms, but we most certainly have an ice machine available to get you started utilizing the pitcher that we also provide in your room. We are so sad to hear that you experienced these issues past your stay and would have most certainly been willing to assist you in any of your request while you stayed with us. We certainly hope you visit another Candlewood Brand in the future so we may show you that we truly got your back when staying with us.
