Location

This attractive city hotel lies in a large health centre and only around 1.5 km away from plenty of medicinal facilities. The hotel is situated roughly 16 km northwest of the centre of San Antonio.

Facility

The hotel has 134 rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. Complimentary newspapers are available. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the view of the courtyard from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. The daily newspaper is laid out for guests in the the rooms. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can go for an energising swim at the freshwater pool complex (in part heated). A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including cycling/mountain biking, golf, a gym, aerobics, a spa and a sauna.

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a café and a bar. A fortifying breakfast is served daily.

    Always A Good Experience

    I have stayed at this hotel many times, as family I vist lives nearby. I have never had anything less than a five star stay. The hotel is spotless, but what makes it special is the staff. They are friendly, accommodating & remember me when I return! I would like to give a special "shout out" to Chase Mauldin at the Front Desk! He is amazing and so helpful!

    Originally booked this hotel for two nights. Decided to drive to the location and check it out before our arrival date. What a horrible looking place! Reminded me of rundown apartment building in the projects. Did not look at all like standard Marriott hotels. Obvious security issues with sliding glass doors on first floor rooms accessible from the parking lot. Did not feel comfortable staying there, so we canceled our reservation and found a better place at a cheaper price. As far as security, we pride ourselves with having frequent visits from the local police department since they like to use our clean public bathrooms or even use our public guest microwave to warm up their food for their lunch. If a guest does not feel comfortable with a 1st floor room, we do have 2 additional higher floors as well or even rooms facing the courtyard instead of the parking lot.     We had an extended stay at the hotel while having treatment at the medical center. We had looked at several other hotels in person and chose the Courtyard. We were in a one bedroom king suite. We had a first floor room very convenient to the handicap parking area. There are multiple entry areas with keycard making it very easy. The hotel staff are so friendly and accommodating. The staff seems to enjoy their jobs. The hotel is spotless! The room furniture and bedding was in great condition. The microwave and fridge was a must have. Our room fridge had a small freezer ( heard they were switching these out for fridge only, management DONT DO IT). Staff helped me set up my fire stick on the TV, they had to give a special Wi-Fi access for the room during my stay. The free Bonvoy Wi-Fi works great. Room had patio with 2 chairs and screen door. Pool and outdoor patio are inviting. The gym had several treadmills, bikes and weights. There is a large clean laundry area. There are ice machines. The rooms have single serve Keurig k cups coffee makers. They provide pods but I brought my own Starbucks Verona. There is a Starbucks coffee bar in the lobby. They have the Bistro that is open in the morning and evening with full bar and grill. There is a small pantry with sodas, chips, ice cream etc. The hotel has 3 floors. I have travelled a lot and always book 5 star resorts. Obviously, this was not a vacation for us however I was so impressed with the hotel I had to write this review.

    We always enjoy our stay at the Medical Center Courtyard. The hotel and the rooms are always spotless and the staff is extremely friendly! Thank you to Chase Mauldin at the front desk. He was helpful & very accommodating! The bartender at the small bar is always very friendly! We always stay at ths Courtyard when we are in town visiting ourkids in the area!

    OK hotel, but not again for me

    First off, before I get to the grit I want to say that our room was nice and it was clean.  Now, the rest of the story....Initially the hotel floor plan is confusing.  You must choose the correct elevator to get to one set of rooms or the other.   We found this out after standing in line at the wrong elevator.  You also have to enter the correct outside doors otherwise you have to walk around the building to get to the correct elevator.  Not a huge deal-breaker but it took a bit of getting used to it.  We were in a group and some of the group was on the other side.  So even though they were on the same floor we had to go down, walk around to the other elevators and go back up.  Cleaning staff was ever-present at awkward times.  When we arrived at 8pm we had to navigate around multiple cleaning carts in the narrow hallways.  And when we were moving around the next morning at 7am the cleaning team & carts were in line at the elevators.  The final day at 830am leave out they were in the hallways as well.  Maybe they're understaffed in the cleaning dept. lending to them having to clean at extended times.  We've been to hotels all over the US & this one stands out since the cleaning staff is typically after checkout /before check in times (meaning late morning to early afternoon, instead of early AM & late PM hours.)  Again, not a deal-breaker but it compounded the awkward experience.Lastly, the big one for me was simply that they do not have a courtesy coffee / tea bar.  They have small room coffee makers but most hotels have a lobby set.  They only offer Starbucks, which is already over-priced but this hotel only has hyper over-priced Starbucks.  They charged $5.40 for a cup of hot water & single teabag.  Big thumbs down. As for the staff being present at different times, we do have housekeeping at night sometimes due to certain circumstances that may occur throughout the day. The Courtyard is a brand of Marriott that does not usually include breakfast with every rate. This is the reason why we have the free coffee available in the rooms and can always provide additional coffee packs at no additional charge. We appreciate your response and will be taking note of this with our revenue management team. I recommend to always bring up any issues/concerns you may have while you are with us so that we may be able to address them at that time. We are always looking to improve and address these situations as quick as possible.
