    Airmen Beware

    rating23 Apr 2026

If you don’t want to read the full review just know that this location is known for vehicular vandalism and break ins. The hotel refuses to take any financial responsibility despite knowing about these issues. The first thing about the stay is that I had multiple family members staying here in support of my wife graduating from basic training at JBSA Lackland. They followed me and my recommendation. Multiple family members had issues with their rooms from holes in the ceiling, ac units not working and bloody paper towels in their ice bowls. Our room was outdated and a little funky smelling but nothing awful. The beds are not traditional holiday inn beds and pillows, which I love. They weren’t horrible but I do wish I would have brought my own pillow. The water pressure also left a lot to be desired and the water temp was not consistent going from hot to ice cold (I wasn’t intentionally trying to take a James Bond shower, but that’s what it felt like). I discovered if I turned the water all the way off it would reset the water and stabilize for a bit before going wonky again. We had to be at the base early in the morning to be able to attend all of the briefings about my wife’s new career. Breakfast started at 6:30 which prevented us from enjoying it. So if you are here to see your airman graduate just know that you will have to fend for yourself for breakfast. They do have food trucks at the base and the early bird gets the worm. The first night I was there the hotel experienced long power outages. Their cameras are not on battery back up despite them knowing that they have a severe issue with vehicle break ins. My truck was one of the targets and the thieves hit the passenger side front window twice, but the window didn’t break (benefit of laminated windows). I don’t keep valuables in my truck and my windows are tinted dark. Still I was one of the targeted trucks that night. The hotel agreed to look at the footage and tried to twice, but the power outage rendered the cameras useless allowing the thieves to do what they wanted unnoticed. The hotel claimed they had a security guard, but he was sick that night and no replacement was brought in or extra precautionary measures taken to ensure the safety of the guests or their property. I had my window replaced the last day of our stay. The tech that came out confirmed the area is a hot spot for break ins and started telling me all the different ways they do it. Trucks are targets, because the thieves think they have firearms in them. Please don’t drive your truck if you are going to stay here. He is also very familiar with this hotel in particular. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my ceramic tint restored then, but at least my window was fixed. The hotel refused to reimburse any portion of the damages (window or tint) incurred due to their direct negligence and blatant disregard for the guests property or time. However they did claim they would send me 2,000 points (rooms start at 20,000). This was supposed to be a time of celebration and happiness. Instead I had to take family time (which there is not a lot of at this time in my airmans career) to fix a mistake that the hotel could have easily prevented or at least mitigated. Save yourself the grief and the hassle and stay someplace safer that respects both you and your property.

Comfy Clean rooms with Great Service! Would stay here again

    rating02 Jan 2024

Great Service! We got in at 2:30 am, got a room that did not smell so good ( could be a San Antonio piping problem) they immediately changed us to a room that didn’t. The next morning Front Desk (Jeremy) went above and beyond to get me a room that would work for us and didn’t smell! I found a lot of the bathrooms in San Antonio kind of smell like sewer, we went to malls, restaurants and even a country club!) Beds are super comfy and clean pillows were great! I’m really picky but these beds are really good! Rooms are clean, and modern they provide you with all the towels you need and lots of soap and shampoo. If we needed anything extra they were quick to give to us ! Free breakfast is basic but good. They had a fresh pancake machine, lots of cereals, bagels with cream cheese, fruit! Came in very handy for our early mornings. We stayed for 7 days and didn’t really get sick of it because there was enough variety. It’s also close to Walgreens, dollar store , Starbucks . There is even a great Italian place a half a block away that we ate at a few times . Location is next to the highway so it’s convenient but if you get that side it could be loud . Try to get a room facing the other way it was super quiet. They had so many convenient extras like free tea and coffee all day, paper plates in the lobby area to eat meals. They also had a laundry room that was convenient. Overall it was a very comfortable stay for our long week of tennis matches. We would stay here again.

    I'd come back here

    rating23 Sept 2023

Beds were so comfortable. No hassle at all with getting extra towels like at some other hotels. The breakfast was so good every morning. The ladies who waited on us were all so sweet and helpful. And the chef, I think his name was Clarence, was super friendly. I really enjoyed the salsa, made fresh every day! So good!

    Comfy Room!!

    rating14 Sept 2023

It was just a overnight stay to visit a family member. Went by to check in before going to dinner. Check in was quick and the lady at the desk was so easy to talk to. She’s super friendly. The hotel was clean, we got the 2nd floor. I went up and down the elevator a few times to the car and then to get some coffee , sugars/creamers for my mom. Very quick and easy distance. There is a coffee maker in the room but it’s a Keurig. There’s also a microwave and small fridge in the room. I asked for a room that had railing in the bathroom because of my elderly mom at check in. I can’t say anything about the breakfast because we left by 5:30 am. The bed was nice and soft, but not too soft. The sheets were clean, we just used the cool cotton comforter. I would definitely stay here again.
