    This hotel was a great deal offering a lot of value. The pool and hot tub and breakfast were all bigger than expected and better than expected. The room was a great surprise as it was much bigger than I expected. I would stay here again.     This particular hotel needs a remodel or DEEP cleaning at least! The ventilation had black on it which I worried was black mold! The breakfast was the crowning jewel of this hotel! The staff was amazing and did a great job of keeping everything full and hot/cold!     Beware: Fraudulent $500 charge for using a hair straightener caused by faulty smoke sensor!

    We booked a one-night stay at the La Quinta Riverwalk San Antonio to attend a concert with family. Upon checkout, I noticed an unauthorized $500 charge on my receipt. The front desk did not bother to inform me about this.When I spoke to the supervisor, he admitted the charge was from an automated third-party "smoke sensor" system and claimed he couldn't reverse it, despite having no actual physical evidence of smoking. It was entirely triggered by my family using a hair straightener. Not that Smoke alarm never went off. It is absurd that management relies on faulty automated sensors to penalize guests while completely neglecting the property. The room hasn't been upgraded in over a decade. The bathroom, toilet, and faucets are in terrible condition. This feels like a deliberate scam to gouge guests. I will be disputing this charge with my credit card company and corporate.     I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my stay here!!! The FREE BREAKFAST was delicious!!! The staff; Matt, Jesse’, Rudy, Frank, and my housekeeper were the BEST!!!!! Excellent customer service! Everyone was so patient and kind!!! The pool and hot tub were fun!! The bar offered me a free signature drink too. I have only good things to say about this hotel and their employees!!!
