    Went way downhill - Poor Service, Bad Food, and a Frustrating Check-In

    This hotel has really gone downhill. It used to be nice a few years ago, but it is no longer well-maintained. The AC was not working properly and the entire building felt uncomfortably warm. Breakfast was disappointing: soggy waffles, wet potatoes, undercooked sausage, and no flavor.The worst part was check-in. I had called earlier in the day to confirm my stay, which was a gift using hotel points. I was told I needed to be added to the reservation. The person who gifted the stay took care of that. But when I arrived, there were still issues. The front desk staff spent more time questioning whether I had actually spoken with the hotel than resolving the problem. I was basically gaslit and told I had not called, even though I had spoken with someone at the hotel after selecting option 3 from the phone menu. That lack of follow-through caused unnecessary stress.Between the poor service, lack of upkeep, and bad food, I wish I had stayed somewhere else. Would not recommend.     Grossest hotel ever. When my family and I got into our room, it had a foul smell to it. As we continued walking around the room to look at it and check it out there was trash in the corners and the tub had brown stains in it. on day, two of staying here, I went up to our room to get something and discovered a roach in the kitchen of our room. This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at and will never come here again.     Home away from home!

    Excellent property!! A visit will give a snapshot of the the property ... an extended stay will reveal the "real" character of the property. I had the extended stay (greater than one month) and the character is excellent! Areas of note: safe and clean underbuilding, not underground parking (get out of the Texas sun); housekeeping and maintenance staff that actually care about the appearance and condition of the property; management and reception staff that demonstrate excellent customer service ... to the point of taking corrective actions for those who behave badly; the pool, laundry and exercise areas were also safe and clean. As an addition, within walking distance are many restaurants and shopping ... although the property does offer breakfast and dinner meals. Will definitely stay again when I am in San Antonio.

    Heartfelt Thanks for Exceptional Service at Staybridge Suites Hotel!

    Our first-time experience staying at a Staybridge Suites Hotel (11/20/2023 thru 11/22/2023) was AWESOME! Upon arrival, we were placed in a suite that was not in the best condition as far as odor - due to a previous tenant having a dog in the room. We contacted the front desk and IMMEDIATELY the issue was RESOLVED! We were relocated to another suite and the suite/accommodations were FANTASTIC! Rebecca Halderman, Director of Sales, was absolute Professional, Kind, and Caring! She went above and beyond to ensure our expectations were met! She also shared with us various sites to visit for Christmas Drive-Through Lights to take our grandkids as that is why we were visiting San Antonio! The staff Narcy, Franny, and all housekeeping staff were courteous and gracious. To be quite honest, in all our travels we have never experienced the OUTSTANDING service we received from the director to staff at any hotel we've stayed at, and I might say we have stayed at exclusive hotels but this visit/stay at Staybridge was EXCELLENT! This level of service exceeded our expectations and made our stay memorable.     Stayed here for two weeks mainly due to location and also price. Disappointing. The basics were adequate but the soft touches were absent. Two weeks going in and out and barely a greeting from the staff, which is particularly unusual in Texas.Breakfast food was pretty tasteless, especially the yellow stuff which was supposed to be eggs. 'Lite-touch' housekeeping was erratic, sometimes they came and sometimes nothing.Drurys Inn and Suites across the highway is a much superior product, albeit slightly more expensive, but worth it. We moved.
