Worst hotel stay of my life.

    rating26 Feb 2026

Where do I begin? I hope you don’t want to sit in your room and relax with a light on, because there are sensors that turn off every light if there is no motion in the room for TEN minutes. Not thirty. Not twenty. Ten. The lights, TV, and AC fan will all turn off if you are sitting still for just 10 minutes. Housekeeping is not automatic, you have to request it the night before. So, you pay a crazy amount of $$ for this hotel just for it to not come with housekeeping or LIGHTS. The toilet paper feels like sandpaper so bad to where I was in pain for a long time after using it. The WiFi is horrible, you will be connected to it and it will work for a while, and then it will randomly cut out, so you switch to data, and that works for a while and then stops, and you then have to reconnect to wifi. And so the cycle continues. The faucet in the shower drips constantly al night no matter how well you shut it off. There was hair in the shower and sink when I got here. And to top it all off, they only have one nice front desk staffer, the woman with glasses. Everyone else is unbelievably rude, especially when you try to bring up some of these things to see what’s going on. I’ve had better stays at Motel 6s. Location is good, but there are 4 other hotels immediately next door or across the street. For how expensive this place is it is unbelievable that they cheap out on everything, from toilet paper to lights and TV. Stay somewhere else, seriously.

    A Decent Hotel Near RMA

    rating10 Dec 2025

This was my second time at this hotel and I mainly stayed here because I am a gold tier in the Hilton Honors.Check in was uneventful and mostly stress free.During check-in it was confirmed that breakfast ended at 9am everyday. My room was fairly large and with plenty of space. It kind of had a view. The bathroom was very nice.I was staying at the hotel because it was close to a concert I was attending. After the concert I requested a late check out, but the next morning apparently the word hadn’t gotten to the housekeeping staff and they frist knocked on my door around 10:15 asking if I needed anything thing (thankfully I was planning on getting up around that time)Then at 12:15 (I had the room until 1p) I get a knock at my door with a housekeeper looking very annoyed that I am still in the room. The Food Lab and Game Lab venues are fantastic.Definitely utilize the food lab if you like to sleep in on weekends.Until they extend their breakfast hours (at least on the weekends) I would be hesitant about recommending this place.

Avoid this hotel if you want a leisurely weekend breakfast

    rating09 Nov 2025

This hotel is a fairly typical Hampton Inn. Nothing special. However, a few aspects greatly degrade the experience. First, breakfast on the weekend is served to only 9:00. Most decent hotels offer their included breakfast to at least 10 or later on weekends. Also, the breakfast area is too small and cramped. And super crowded with everyone trying to get in before the service ends.Next, the rooms have motion detectors that turn off the TV and lights if no motion is sensed in 30-40 minutes. So, if you're relaxing on the bed watching TV, be prepared for everything to randomly shut off.The elevators are the slowest I've ever encountered in a supposedly modern hotel.Right now, it's 9:30 AM, the day of our checkout. You'd think that housekeeping would be aware of our checkout schedule and wait until we leave. But no -- they're knocking on our door right now. No idea why. Will never stay here again.

    Last time @ Hampton Riverside...

    rating01 Oct 2025

Parking will be improved once parking garage is finished, currently a mess.Front desk was rude to me at check in.In the room the electronics (TV) were controlled by a motion sensor so if no one in the room moved (watching TV for example), the lights and TV turned off. What? Two room keys didn't work on the elevator. I travel for a living and am Lifetime status with Hilton - I will NEVER stay there again. T

    Great Location! Average Hotel...

    rating27 Jul 2025

We were recently in Riverside to attend a swim meet at Riverside City College. We chose the Hampton Inn Riverside Downtown due to its proximity to the campus, as well as to the restaurants in the area. When we arrived, the parking attendant greeted us and asked if we would be using the self parking or the valet. We were also told that the self-parking lot was located off site, and that it would be a 5 minute walk. Since both were priced the same at $29/night, we chose to use the valet. We checked in and went up to what we were told was our room. When we entered, the room appeared to be occupied. The beds were not made, backpacks were hanging on the coat hangers, and some clothes were on the floor. Luckily, nobody was in the room at the time. I immediately went back to the lobby to tell the front desk what happened. She was surprised and said she gave us the correct room. She asked if I was sure, and I told her "yes, I'm positive." She proceeded to tell me that she assigned the correct room and that her system shows the room was cleaned and available. It was almost like she didn't believe me. After a few minutes of looking things up in their system, she finally assigned a different room to my key, but never apologized for the error. This experience made me paranoid for the rest of our stay. Was someone going to come into our room by accident? Was our stuff safe? Once the issue with the room was resolved, I found our room to be spacious and comfortable. The window faced the east and had a fantastic view of the Mission Inn, a few blocks away. The beds were a little stiff in my opinion, but still allowed for a decent nights sleep. The restroom/shower was modern and clean, but I wish the water pressure in the shower was a little stronger. I didn't see any vending machines on site, so you will either need to buy from the little market/pantry in the lobby, or bring drinks/snacks from the outside. There is a small pool behind the building, however, there is also some construction happening right next to the hotel, so it can get a little noisy. I didn't notice the noise from the construction in our room, which was on the other side of the building. The initial room issue didn't give me a sense of safety, but overall, our stay at the Hampton Inn was decent and enjoyable.
