    My husband and I grew up all over San Diego. We came back home due to personal family issues. I booked at the. Howard Johnson not knowing that the neighborhood changed so much. The staff is very courteous and helpful. There is only one driveway into HoJo’s. For four nights and we felt completely safe. Even with a downstairs room! We slept like babies. 🥰 Very nice beds and very clean rooms. Thanks to the staff at National City, Ca Howard Johnson!

    The rooms are nice, small but well-appointed. The tram to both downtown and San Ysidro is 10 minutes away. It's a shame there isn't much to eat nearby. Breakfast is very basic.

    Bad area, good staff, good beds, noisy traffic sound, smelled very bad in room.Bfast had yogurt and fresh fruit and yogurt so it was good for me.

    The bedroom odor was horrible it smell like crack cigarette and the bathroom was even worse. It was not about true bedroom being clean, it was about the smoke odor . It was a terrible experience. I would never booked there again.

    We were at our arrival worried about the busy road but it was quiet during the night. The service was friendly and helped where needed. Room was clean, enough towels, bed was perfect. Finally a micro wave that worked correctly! Love to come back here one day.
