  We are on day 4 of 6 and we have enjoyed our time here so far. The restaurant and cafe are good, the pool area is very nice and the shuttles to town and the beach are great. The staff are friendly and they have a text program to request service which is unique and has worked well. The only bummer is that the water at the beach is polluted and can’t be touched. I think they should have told us this.   At first observance this appears like a 5 star resort, but there are a lot of little things that take away from that. My room had a leaky toilet, I rang night one and they sent up a repair man straight away - i was very impressed - even more impressed that it appeared to be fixed in 5 minutes BUT - next night came back to a flooded floor - late at night so just chucked a tonne of towels on the floor to stop me from slipping On the first morning, i noticed the conditioner in the shower had run out, it was not refilled for the next day. House keeping had time to mess with my stuff and display it on a towel but not enough time to refill the conditioner??Finally I was incredibly surprised and disappointed that you only have one sharps container for everyone to share - you literally have a person going from room to room waiting for someone to put their sharps in and then take it away - i believe this is incredibly irresponsible and not well thought through. As an insulin dependant diabetic, I need to check my blood sugars regularly through out the day - each check requires the use of a sharp, following that I will inject insulin through the use of a one time use micro needle. My options are to put the used sharps in a place until i can call for the sharp container. I travel fairly frequently and have never had to call every single time i want to dispose of a sharp. Most accommodations and cruises have a supply of sharps containers and just give a container to their guest who will use it and then the hotel can dispose of all the items at the end of the stayThe staff are all friendly and the views were incredible - they have a nectar garden that attracts hummingbirds.   I was not very impressed with my stay at Loews Hotel. It seemed that room maintenance was lacking—when I tried to open the closet door, it unexpectedly slammed on my hand instead of sliding smoothly.The hot tub had a very strong chlorine smell and an excessive amount of foam, which made it unpleasant to use. There were also no towels available, and I had to search for a staff member while standing in the cold.Additionally, parking is not included in the resort fee and costs $50 per night, which was disappointing. The location is also not very convenient, as it is far from most attractions.The hotel is advertised as beachfront, but there was no prior notice that the beach was closed. Had I known, I likely would have chosen a different property. While I understand the hotel may not control beach closures, I believe this is important information to communicate to guests in advance.Overall, I was disappointed with my experience and would not choose to stay here again. Additionally, ocean water quality is outside of the hotel’s control and has been an ongoing regional matter for the past few years.   Solid in just about every way.

  Overall it was a very good experience. March was a really good time to be there as it was not crowded at all. The setting on the bay is beautiful, and the little gardens between the buildings are serene - one right next to our building with gorgeous citrus trees. The staff is very profressional and nice; we had an issue with the fire alarm going off at 2 AM and they really took care of us and made up for it with a nice credit. When we had problems with our sink (twice) they had a tech up in minutes to take care of it. The place is clean but is dated and does need some updating; curious whether they're going to do a renovation because it could be way way better but that would come with higher prices. Our toddler loved it. The pools are huge and so warm (which I really appreciated because some hotels are terrible at this). When he was napping I could go off to the beach which is minutes away or rent a bike and go on the bike path (do not miss the bike path when you're here). They give you a texting system but do not bother with this as its clearly off-site - instead talk to the staff in person or on the phone. Shuttle system is great to get to the town, otherwise there is nothing around in terms of restaurants so you have to eat at the hotel. Food is pretty good for hotel food, don't miss the Huevos Rancheros at the main hotel breakfast, it is a family recipe of the Chef's and incredible. Don't bother renting a car , use Uber to get to the zoo. Otherwise with our toddler we stayed on site pretty much the whole time except for one trip to the town for dinner.
