    AT LEAST THE HOTEL IN THE SHINING HAD FUN GHOSTS....This place lacks charm, beauty, service and amenities.

    Didn't bother to check in as there is a supposed $200 CASH 'deposit,' that it is not listed until you walk up to the check in desk. The hotel itself looks run down, with lights flickering on and off. It's in a sketchy neighborhood and the laundry 'room,' is a washer and dryer out in the middle of the parking lot.

    One Star Experience at a Three Star Property

    From the time we arrived we were treated with little respect. We asked for a room on the top floor but were told the only room avaialable was #313 (there are 4 floors).When we arrived in the room, it smelled off, like musty carpet. We thought it might be the cleaners used and left to go downtown for a few hours. It still smelled when we returned and when we opened the drawers they smelled so bad we coldn't put our clothes in them. We went to the front desk to request a different room. We were told there were rooms on the fourth floor, but the host would need to call the owner for permission. After a quick call, she informed us the owner had denied our request because we had been in the room too long. We protested and asked to speak to the owner directly. She placed another call and said the owner wasn't answering. It was late so we had to stay in the room, but stated our intention to cancel the 2nd night. The host said there would not be a refund for canceling. We ended up spending the evening chaning our flight and reporting the issued to Booking.com and Wyndham. The next day, we received an email from the property managment accusing us of being disruptive, lying about the smell and being intoxicated. The person who sent the note did not identify themselves and was not in the lobby when we were talking with the host, yet they claimed to quote things we did not say. They took a $200 dollar deposit, that as of five days later, they still have not returned. What should have been a fun 2-day getaway turned into a nightmare as we are still having to escalte the issue to get our deposit back. We wish we had read the reviews prior to booking this property and seen the notes about the condition of the rooms and the way management treats guests. We relied on the Wyndham brand unfortunately.

    After giving them the benefit of the doubt with all the negative reviews, all the reviews are legit. Confusions with reservations, $200 cash only deposit is just what you're welcomed with. In her message, she essentially accuses me of being like "those" individuals who defame the hotel in order to obtain a discount or refund. However, no one has requested a discount or refund; we are merely providing feedback, as that is, after all, what the hospitality industry seeks. The presence of broken fixtures, a non-functioning TV and alarm clock, and a vape found under the pillows certainly raises questions about whether the sheets were changed, in my view. Additionally, the inability to obtain toilet paper in the morning due to the absence of housekeeping, along with the lack of assistance, is concerning. I do not believe that it constitutes defamation of the hotel when one is simply stating the truth.

    I was not happy that I had to give them a $200 cash deposit and how convenient for them to have an ATM in the lobby that’s three dollars. I’m not getting back my deposit. Besides that they gave me room 313 when I walked in there it smelled like wet carpet, and instead of them giving me another room they just sprayed it with Lysol. As I was sitting on the edge of the bed I started seeing roaches more than 3 crawling around with the lights on, so I imagine how many will come out when the lights are off. They ended up giving me another room, which didn’t smell bad. The room looked good I fell asleep and about two in the morning. I was woken up because of a clicking sound that I spent about two hours, looking for the sound which ended up being the telephone line. I ended up unplugging just to manage to get some sleep in before work. Before it used to be a great place to stay, then even had a breakfast and now what they offer as a breakfast is an apple that located in the lobby they wanna charge best Western prices but don’t offer the best Western experience I would recommend for you guys not to get any rooms on the third floor
