    Ok for an overnight, but really no longer. It is a middling hotel at best. "Continental" breakfast was lamer than at similar properties. Area was meh.     Double charged and no refund

    I stayed here on Dec 4th, I was double charged for the room, I booked thru Viocom and was properly charged by them, then the next day I was charged by Best Western, I contacted the hotel and was originally told I booked two rooms, Then I received a call from the General Manager telling me his employee mistakenly removed the VioCom booking and that is why I was charged by Best Western and that I needed to contact VioCom as he could not remove the charge. I contacted them and have heard from them and they told me they contacted Jose at the front desk and that a credit had been issued. That was on 12/20 and today is 12/28 and no credit has been issued to my card. I should never had to go thru this they should have immiadetly issued me a credit. Seems like this hotel is scamming me.     Worst customer service and hotel in SD

    Worst hotel experience in San Diego , website clearly states that you can pay upon arrival. You can choose whether you pay before or upon arrival. Also got a hold of hotel to pre register the day before. The hotel tried to take money out of my card without consent. Stating that they were running out of rooms and were sold out and since my money didn’t go through that my room was cancelled. When I asked to speak to the manager the male on the phone didn’t even let finish what I was saying slammed the phone and got his manager. After the conversation with the manager I was asked if I was gonna cancel the room when the male on the phone just told me my room was cancelled already. I was lied to multiple times by this property. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The lack of consistency and lies was too much. I had to travel for work and now I need to panic and see where I will stay. Please understand that I know how it is to have a bad day but I never take out on my patients. That male who answered the phone at the front desk should not be in customer service. Also I am a member and have made reservations many times for concerts and weekends. Never had to go through this. I also saw on the website after we hung up that there was still available rooms. What a horrible experience.     Everything was great. It had Clean, comfy rooms. It also had nice/helpful staff.. Fresh pastries, fruit, coffee, every morning which was Always nicely organized and stocked. The prices were affordable (for San Diego). Would stay again and would recommend!

    I stayed here for a week on a work assignment. Overall I had a very nice stay. My room was located on the second floor in the front building where the office is located. There is no elevator, keep that in mind. Parking was good, plenty of spaces usually close to your room, it does fill up on weekends. I had a king room and the room was clean, no odors or anything. Every hotel/motel has its quirks, I spend 90% of my time on the road so I have learned them well and most are not a problem. My only wish for this location is a table lamp or two next to the bed on the night stand. The room is lit with ceiling lights and there are lights over the area where a table lamp would be but the quality of the light is not really pleasant, a table lamp would be much better in my opinion. The re-coating of the bathtub in my room was beginning to peel but for me that's not a big issue and it's common with tub resurfacing in commercial applications. ZERO indications of any insects, that was mentioned in some other reviews, I did not see any or have any issues. Breakfast was good, quick but not the grab and go type. My king bed was comfortable, bedding was very nice. The staff was also very nice, housekeeping is every third day which is fine unless you are a pig. In that case you can go to the desk and request housekeeping. Location is good very close to the I-5 exit at E street. Its on a main street, with some other properties near by. The transit center is close. I saw no issues with homeless people hanging around. People walk the area but E street is a main street so of course you will see people. There is a McDonalds and Black Angus next door and a Taco Bell and Dennys across the street. Other options are a short drive away. All in all it was a very nice stay with absolutely no problems over the week I was there.For the complainers....this is a budget friendly motel. If you want luxury, raise your price point. If you want a nice, clean, friendly safe room at a reasonable price, then stay here.
