  We arrived late at night. The hostess was nice and friendly. When we got to the room we noticed that the room was so small, doesn’t even have space for a closet, 3 drawers and 4 exposed hangers. The shower was dirty, disgusting hairs in the floor and shower, the Handel to open the shower is broken, all the mirrors dirty. I spoke with the front desk, they apologized and promised to change us to another room and they said the manager would talk to us the next day, of course none of this things happened, no change of rooms and the manager never even bothered in calling or checking our status.Next day they forgot to come and make the room !! All day they forgot ! I called and called and they said they would come, nothing happened, next day no call and no change of room, we left at 9 am and came back to the hotel at 8 45 pm, to our surprise that they didn’t make the room again !!! no towels no clean sheets, nothing!! Called the front desk and nobody there to answer, just a recording , this hotel is a nothing but catastrophic in their operation, it seems they have absolutely no knowledge of what hotel service is, i urge them to seek a hotel operator, because with the current administration this hotel is doomed to close its doors very soon, I wish I would have gone anywhere else but here, a Motel 6 has better service that this place, I could go on but I just want to get out of here.   I overall had a completely fine stay at The Bower. It’s a beautiful hotel with a very modern, calming aesthetic, and the staff was consistently kind and accommodating, particularly with check-in. The location is wonderful— so close to the beach and several shops/cafes. That said, for a hotel that is marketed as a luxury five-star property, I felt several details were missing from the overall experience. Housekeeping was inconsistent: during my five-night stay, my room was serviced only twice, and one of those times the towels weren’t replaced—they were just rehung. Additionally, both times I returned after housekeeping, the central heat had been turned down to 65°F, so I walked into a much colder room than I would have wanted. The shower also never got truly hot, just lukewarm. The rooms are on the smaller side, comparable to what you’d see in cities like New York or Chicago, which is fine and sufficient for one party, but may be cramped for more guests (referring to the Premium King room). However, it was clean and quiet. There is no closet and though there are a few hangers, no pant hangers were provided. The hotel does provide nice robes, though no slippers. The clothing steamer is a hybrid steamer/iron that’s honestly somewhat difficult to use, especially on thicker items, and not the best at getting out wrinkles. Another odd thing was that I had to sign into the Wi-Fi every day on every device, which was just inconvenient, and sometimes web pages were just slow to load, making remote work a little difficult.Individually, none of these issues were significant dealbreakers, but together, they add up and don’t align with what I’d expect from a luxury stay. It felt like the attention to detail was missing. I do recognize the hotel is newer, so they’re likely still working out operational kinks. On a positive note, Dive, the rooftop bar upstairs, is beautiful; the staff was always lovely, and the food/drinks were quite good.Overall: a nice stay, but not quite meeting luxury expectations for the price.   Wife, son and I went for one night. We arrived early and were able to check in. The Hostess was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The room was a good size with two queen beds. Everything looked and felt new. Our room overlooked the street and faced Del Coronado across the street. None of the outside noise bothered us and we heard nothing from adjacent rooms or hallways. We were walking distance to the beach and restaurants and bars. Access to the hotel was easy and we used the valet for parking. We will definitely return to this hotel.   Our favorite hotel

  I have intended to write this review since last April and was reminded while booking this year’s trip back to Coronado and The Bower. We stayed at the Bower with our two children for a family vacation. It was the perfect boutique hotel experience- warm, luxurious without pretense, welcoming, and quiet with a feeling of home. Although the hotel is not marketed towards children, my children were very welcome and the staff was wonderful. For me, luxury is found in small, thoughtful touches (like complementary coffee, tea, juice, specialty sodas, and pastries), quality in all aspects of the stay (delicious food, comfortable bedding, excellent bath products), and genuine hospitality. The staff really shined. We typically stay at Four Seasons properties but I loved the Bower even more for its intimate atmosphere. It’s in a great location as well. I’ve actually never written a review before on TripAdvisor before but wanted to encourage more families to consider this hotel when staying in the San Diego area. See you again soon!   Amazing Getaway with the Dogs!

  My husband and I recently booked a spur-of-the-moment getaway. When we made our reservation, we had the pleasure of speaking with the General Manager, Sean Murphy. What a joy it was working with him on the reservation. We met him at the hotel and were impressed with by his interest in us. I felt like we were family!When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the staff. Each of the staff spoke with us when were were coming and going from the hotel They were attentive and friendly. The architecture style of the hotel was beautiful. The room and hotel was as pictured on their website and the bathroom had lovely bath products. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Both the rooms and hotel common areas were very clean.Also, the restaurant on the roof Dive was outstanding.
