    No! Save yourself from this place!

    Save your self!! This hotel was AWFUL! The hotel itself is tired. Filthy old furnishings, and carpets. I mean really really gross!! If you plan on sleeping, you will not. The adjacent “hotel” seems to be currently functioning as a housing shelter. There were so many incidents we witnessed. Drug user on stoop, man attacking garbage can, gun carrying man in mask. Throughout day/night drug use party on the street. Screaming, fighting, super loud music 3 am, 4 am , 5 am. When we asked for a room on a higher level to get away from the noise, I was offered earplugs. Don’t believe the pretty photos, save your vacation and do not stay here.

    A great hotel, older but very clean, the staff were very nice and helpful. Close to stores, trolley, China Town, plenty of places to eat. Would stay at Beresford Arms again.

    My mum and I stayed at the Beresford arms for a few nights after a long flight from the UK. The hotel was dated but it is a traditional type hotel, not a modern hotel and it isn’t trying to be anything else. Our room was spacious, beds comfortable and clean and the staff were lovely. The only downside I’d say is the area is “iffy” luckily it feels safe in the hotel itself, but I wouldn’t suggest being on the street after dark. Daytime is fine. San Fran is expensive and it was hard to find a hotel that was a reasonable price, nothing wrong with this hotel at all if all you need is a decent nights sleep

    We stayed here mid September 2024.We pulled up outside a very grand old hotel and when we walked into the lobby you could see really nice period features however it was down hill from hereWe checked in and were told the room haven’t been paid for. This wasn’t a great start as we were under the impression that we have paid. The website was very unclearAfter a heated discussion I had to pay almost $200We were given a room upgrade which was right by reception on the ground floor. The room was nicely furnished however the building itself needed money spending on itRipped net curtains, no double glazing, window blinds didn’t quite do the job and the bathroom needed replacing. The shower burnt us as it wasn’t on a thermostatic tap. We got very little sleep due the noise of sirens and street noise, people shouting and playing music - just awfulThe area the hotel is in too is just awful, we felt very unsafe and uncomfortable and we couldn’t wait to leaveWould I come back? Absolutely not!!

    Stayed at this hotel for four nights. Pleasant stay good sized room. Basic breakfast reflective of the price. Room was always serviced whist I was out exploring. If I return to SFO I would definitely stay here again. The owl tree bar one block down the road is a good place to relax and there are plenty of dining options very close
