  Definitely not for everyone. It’s not at all unpleasant, in fact you can tell that they try and keep the place appealing. The location is very convenient.The parking lot is partially blocked which created a parking problem for us as late arrivals and again the next day when a fellow guest parked so snugly next to us that I (not young) had to crawl in the passenger side of my rental car. Timing (holiday weekend) feels unfortunate.AC worked fine. Ample supply of towels. Room felt clean. A bigger issue — for me at least— was staffing. While it’s logical that 24/7 manning isn’t always necessary, it feels like high demand times perhaps warrant some contact. Similarly, I did also find the 8:00 AM opening off putting. 6:00 feels more appropriate. As late arrivals we had a temporary key in a lockbox then had to delay our family business until after 8:00 to stop by and get new keys. Traffic noise didn’t bother us a bit.Neighborhood felt very safe. Shopping and dining nearby. If you, like us, have business on the other side of the tunnel: 8:00 is NOT a good time to leave. Before 7 or after 9. We are supposed to return shortly. Should be okay.

  The bed & pillow are lumpy. There was no hot water for showering.And I was kept up all night by the noise of the traffic on the interstate.

  We stayed at the Diablo Mountain Inn for nine nights at the beginning of October 2025.It was our first trip to the USA and what a welcome by the fantastic Chance Taylor we had (all staff that we encountered were lovely!). She was very helpful and continuously sourced information for us.The motel is located within easy walking distance to the BART station, to restaurants and to downtown. We found the rate very reasonable.There was a good-sized fridge, a coffee maker, and a microwave (for that important tv dinner) so one does not always have to eat out. The room was cleaned regularly to a very high standard.Some people commented on traffic noise: yes, there was some but we didn’t really notice it most of the time.We definitely recommend this motel and will be staying there again on future visits.

  Top Tier ADA bathroom, tons of space, very cozy, will stay again

  Got the Queen bed ADA room - it was perfect. Clean room, cozy atmosphere, very comfortable. ADA bathroom was one of the BEST I've ever seen, walk in shower with seat, multiple grab bars for shower and toilet , plenty of space, and tactile grip strips along the tile floor.Owner was incredibly friendly, got me a same day room with late check in . Check in system with lock box was incredibly easy, and I felt very comfortable and safe for the night I stayed here. Thank you so much ! - Kirsten S.   Replace the mattress and fix shower door.

  Mattress was old and needed replacing — we both woke up stiff and sore. Shower door needed fixing — couldn’t close and water would get out — we’re talking a 2” gap. Management left a sign but neglected to fix it before our arrival. Probably won’t be staying here again. It was convenient to downtown Chance Tyler, General Manager at Diablo Mountain Inn, responded to this review I am sorry that we did not meet your needs. We have had some trouble with shower doors and are working on a solution. The parts are no longer available. As for the mattress, I will log your feedback. We replace mattresses after 3 complaints. None is more than 5 years old. We do have 3 different types of mattresses, pillow top, foam and firm. Some people need a specific type. For instance I wake up sore on a soft mattress. I am sorry that you won't be returning and even more sorry that your experience wasn't better.
