  Noisy but nice

  The Francisco Bay Inn has very friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are spacious and well maintained with a bath, fridge, large TV (lots of channel), King bed, microwave (no cutlery or plates) etc. The Inn is centrally located and is within short walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf, Fort Mason and the windy street (Lombard Street). Our only moan was the street noise as the Inn is on a very busy junction. We would defiantly stay again as it has many positives for a reasonable price.

  Okay Stay in a Good Location

  Nothing special, but it was an okay stay overall. The staff were fine and did their job, and the location is good and convenient for getting around. The room was basic and did what it needed to do, but there was nothing that really stood out. Suitable if you just need a place to sleep and a decent location.

  The hotel is centrally located and accessible via foot or public transport. The hotel offers relatively basic accommodation and is somewhat tight when sharing with four persons and their luggage, however rooms are clean, well serviced and air conditioned. The location felt safe and clean. There were a few small cafes and restaurants in short walking distance. The attendants were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the evening attendant who rushed out to help us with parking our very large 12 seater vehicle without request, and continued to be helpful for the remainder of our stay.

  Disappointing Experience Despite Good LocationWe booked three rooms at Francisco Bay Inn for the 4th of July weekend. The location was excellent—just a short walk to Fort Mason, which was perfect for watching the fireworks. The rooms were also spacious, which made it convenient for our group.Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the way we were treated by management. The bald man who manages the place spoke to me like a military commander, barking parking instructions in a loud and aggressive tone. It felt like he was ordering me around rather than addressing a paying guest.I tried to explain my understanding—that I initially thought we had a reserved parking slot, but later realized that guests were only guaranteed a space, not a specific spot. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t even listen and kept insisting on the hotel’s policy without letting us clarify what we were told at check-in. We only understood the actual arrangement after the heated exchange.I did my best to stay calm, though my face probably showed my frustration. That’s when he looked at me and said, “Why do you look mad? Why is your face so mad?”—in a confrontational tone that felt like he was trying to provoke a fight. My husband stepped in to defend me, and the conversation escalated. It was no longer about parking but about the completely inappropriate way we were being treated. Shockingly, the manager then instructed the woman at the front desk to call the police on us.There are plenty of motels in the area with better service, more professional staff, and updated rooms. After this experience, we will absolutely never stay here again—and we suggest others think twice before booking.

  When we arrived we were checked in very efficiently and fast. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are decent size, have fridge, microwave, ice , coffee making facilities, big bathrooms, clean towels every day , rooms cleaned everyday. Plenty of car spaces outside. Great location. Doesn’t look wonderful but trust me it has everything you need and more.
