This excellent hotel enjoys a great central location just 2 blocks from China Town and 4 blocks from Union Square. Links to the public transport network, shops, restaurants and bars are to be found in the immediate vicinity.

Facility

543 rooms are located on 17 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities.     Not my best experience at a hotel

    I recently stayed here for a few nights while in town. The bathroom in the first room I was assigned was not properly cleaned especially the bath tub and bathtub tiles. I was then reassigned a second room after submitting a complaint about my first room.     Hilton cheats on guests' money

    Extremely disappointed with my experience at Hilton San Francisco Financial District.I discovered a $120 “PACKAGE HANDLING CHARGE” on my bill for a service I never knowingly ordered or agreed to. No one explained this fee in advance, and the receipt itself contains no meaningful details about the charge — no package information, no storage period, and no justification for such an excessive amount.I spent nearly a year trying to resolve this issue directly with Hilton. After months of communication, the final response I received was simply: “Unfortunately, we will not be refunding the charges,” with no proper explanation or accountability.For a hotel brand that positions itself as premium, I expected transparency, professionalism, and respect toward guests. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and unfairly charged.Unfortunately, this experience seriously damaged my trust in Hilton, and I can no longer recommend this hotel.

    Great views from high floor bay-view rooms, not badly priced and parking available

    Overall a good stay here, with the exception of trying to get a drink/snack in the bar area (see end of review). Hilton is usually my go-to of chain hotels when looking for a consistent experience through the US, and sometimes there are little perks to being an Honors Member.The hotel is ideally located for Chinatown, and if you don't want to pay super high prices for the fancier hotels that abound in San Fran, this is a happy medium. The major draw for me was the chance to get a bay view on a high floor, although for someone like me who is actually afraid of heights, you'd think that would be a drawback! The check-in was easy, with a bit of a line, but a friendly person on the desk when we got sorted. Another plus point for this hotel is on site parking, and while all valet/on site parking seems expensive nowadays, it's a necessary evil when road tripping and stopping in cities. The lobby was large with some options to get coffee/juices/snacks etc, but did feel a bit vacant in some ways. The hotel overall seemed clean though, and our room was fine too, with a comfy bed and an amazing view with an open balcony (eeek!) We booked a King Premium Floor Balcony Bay View room, as was our last night and wanted to splurge a bit, and were not disappointed. While I couldn't look over the balcony, or get too close to the wall, it was still lovely to see the view from the room and when standing with my back against the wall! lol! It was also great for pics with a decent zoom on your camera, plus some internet 'celebrity' (IShowSpeed or some such name) was wandering around town the day we were there, so there was a helicopter following him and we had front row seats to it's stalking! lol!The only downside to our stay was the experience in the bar/restaurant in the evening when we nipped down for a drink and to check out the menu. There wasn't a lot of variety on offer, but there are lots of options close by so that didn't put us off. It was the wait for service that made us decide to leave without actually having anything, as after going up to the bar, the stressed looking older lady tending bar told us to sit down and someone would be with us. That person never arrived and that stressed lady kind of disappeared for more than 10/15 minutes while we perused a menu of drinks, and so in the end, the lack of being able to actually get a drink made us leave and go off-site. That would be my only real negative impression of the stay, so I wouldn't let it put me off staying again, but would hope they could make it easier for hotel patrons to grab a cocktail without a hassle or feeling like a bother.     A clinic in how to turn a 5 star rating into ZERO stars. Hilton Financial had been a "go to" spot for business and vacation for me for over 20 years. I checkied in last month using one of my free hotel days associated with my Hilton credit card. Imagine my surprise when I found an $800 charge on my account for what was supposed to a free night? I've now invested 5 phone calls on hold with the hotel and with the Hilton Honors team. This a premium priced hotel which has historically come with attentive service. My goodness, what happened? Believe me, I will get the refund. But, how much trouble will you put through? I just cancelled my next stay. Plenty of other options.     Overall a good stay

    We stayed here for three nights and we enjoyed our stay. I am a gold member, and was given two free bottles of water at the check-in desk upon arrival. I was also given an upgrade from a standard king room to a King room with a deluxe bay view, it was a great view however the windows on the outside were a little dirty.Everything else about our room was very clean and we had no issues with that, room amenities were good with the coffee machine and tea making. The shower was a little dated but otherwise had decent pressure. The housekeepers made up our room daily with new towels etc, and refreshed the tea/coffee that we had used. The rooms do not have a lot of soundproofing. On our first night, the guests in the neighbouring room were being extremely loud talking up to midnight which was keeping us awake. We called the reception desk who sent security up to get them to stop a few minutes later which we were very grateful for them sorting the issue out so quickly. The hotel is in a good location, from the airport we took the BART train for around $11 and then walking 10 mins from the nearest station.There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which is nice. Chinatown is close by with good options for food. On a few days we took a Waymo from outside the hotel which was fast and convenient, easy to get it. With my gold status, we got $18 each for food and beverage credit for a total of $36 on three separate days. Having only stayed in UK Hilton's previously, I had read this credit might not be enough to cover breakfast. However, we found that the menu options for breakfast were large portions and this amount easily covered our meals at the sit-down hotel restaurant and the "to go" desk in the lobby. On the night we arrived, we had a dinner using it and the food portions were very filling. Overall we were happy with our stay. We never had to wait long for elevators and everything in the lobby area seemed pretty nice with plenty of places to sit and relax. I would recommend this place.
