    Friendly hotel, good location

    The location is great, overlooking the beach and a one block walk away. Really convenient for the tram into the city center and plenty of good restaurants within walking distance and more a short drive or tram ride away. The photo is a little flattering! The hotel itself is quite tired and there are trailers parked all the way down the street but the residents were not any trouble. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Thank especially to Rob for all his help! The rooms were spacious but the wifi in our suite was not great. It worked a bit in one of the rooms but not at all in the other, which was a big deal for our kids. There were no mugs, plates or cutlery in the kitchenette but that seems to be normal these days. Also the refrigerator didn't seem to work and kept freezing our food but we only reported this on the last day. The sound proofing between the rooms was non existent but the hotel staff were really helpful in asking other guests to quieten down if noisy late at night.     Do you value your life? Then I suggest you stay elsewhere. My daughter and I stayed here and I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand.There's a homeless camp across the street and they will wander onto the grounds and scream all hours of the night. Leave nothing in your vehicle and HOPEFULLY that'll keep it safe.We were on the ground floor and had a door that looked as though it had been kicked in a time or two. Pathetic lock. Paper thin walls where we got to listen to domestic violence at all hours of the day/night. The room smelled thick of smoke and cannabis, there was a huge blood stain by the sink and cigarette burns in our sheets. The fact that this place is legally allowed to operate is baffling to me.The staff act like they don't want to be there (I don't blame them) and they absolutely do not care, it's non-refundable Hotel for a reason!The only good thing I can say about it is that it was close to a fantastic beach.Pay an Uber to go to the Beach, it isn't worth the stay.     What a dump!

    I believe when writing a review, you are not suppose to use profanity, but if there was ever a place to use profanity in describing it, this place would be it! What a dump! This place was absolutely the most rundown, dilapidated, place on the planet. The staff behind the front desk was terrible, very rude, & should not be working in hospitality. The location is ok, except it’s directly across the street from a homeless encampment. There were 2-3 campers across the street that had garbage all around them, and people up all night. Definitely does not feel like a safe place for your car, and you definitely don't want your kids out walking around here. The outside of the place is very old, dirty, and rundown. The rooms are extremely disgusting. Our door looked liked it had been kicked in a time or two as it was battered and patched up around the doorknob area. The bottom 3-4” of the door was rotted & the wood was peeling off. The bathroom door had been busted a time or two as u could see all the splits/cracks where it had been glued back together. Huge crack across the tile floor, number of cracks in the bathroom sink, and the shower curtain is 2-3” short so the water runs out on the floor. There was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom so they just put the toilet paper roll on top of the toilet. The only nice thing was the shampoo/ conditioner dispenser in the shower, it was nice & worked well. Avoid this place at all costs!!     Not something to recommend...

    I will not recommend this place, but won't say it's not for you either. First I had to quarrel about the price. Maybe this is the way to do it in the US... but it is not nice to get many different prices stuck out as an offer - for the same thing/room. The room I got was old and dark, and the fact that it is right out to a balcony and to the pacific ocean is maybe nice in the summer, but not in march. The bath was something from the 70th or 80th... working, but not up-to-date. The room was quite big, I guess, and the bed was more than okay! Everything did function (TV, wifi, bathroom, hot water, microwave and such) except the card for the door. I had to go and get a new card to open up my own door 6 out of 7 times I came back from town. That's for me just too much. They cleaned my room 2 times in a 6-7 days stay, by themselves and that was okay by me too. No need to clean every day. Free coffee in the morning. Later I asked a guy for coffee, it was empty, and he said he didn't know how to make coffee, and didn't seem to want to rise from his chair to try. The stay could have been "nearly okay" if not for the staff. The woman I met when I arrived and left was nice and did her job. But... and this is a big thing - the guy/guys I met at night time was the most indifferent/lazy receptionist I have ever come upon. I had 3 small questions as a first timer in the US/San Francisco area and went to the reception. This one guy got up from his chair in the room behind, look upon me as if I had already irritated him, making him leave the backroom, and then he answered the first question as short as possible. To my second question he answered: "Have you googled it?" ... The 3rd question i didn't even like to ask. The other guy was somehow of the same caliber but I didn't meet him that much. Only when he wasn't in the mood to try out the coffee machine (I could have done it) or to make a receipt to another customer. (That was not about me.) Those guys in the reception made this place to a place I will never return to.
