  The hotel refuses to take responsibility for its staff's actions and does absolutely nothing to help resolve issues. Eventually, they just ignore all inquiries and emails, including formal pre-trial claims.During room cleaning, the hotel staff threw away my an expensive personal item (orthodontic aligners).All my requests for assistance led nowhere. The hotel has zero interest in helping its guests. They refused to admit fault, not apologized, and blatantly lied, claiming they had done everything they could.Following this, I sent a formal complaint via email, which the hotel completely ignored. I then sent a legal pre-trial claim to their official address - the hotel ignored that too and didn't bother to reply. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but the hotel is ignoring their inquiries as well.To date, I have received no explanation, no apology, and no compensation. My next step is taking legal action in court. There was no evidence of what is written in this review, and the staff who serviced the room were clear that they did not "throw away" or in any way disturb any personal property. The reviewer was actually involved in the investigation and our team updated the reviewer multiple times and went to great lengths "above and beyond" to be of assistance in this matter. What's more, our hotel provides in room safes in all guest rooms, but the reviewer admitted they did not place any such item in the guestroom safe. This reviewer has kept demanding cash from the hotel, and is unhappy that the result of the investigation did not support that and was not what they aimed for. But that is much different than this review's false claim about the hotel's interest in helping guests or truthfulness or the many efforts undertaken to assist in this matter.

  Our 36th Wedding Anniversary

  A very easy hotel to get too, weather it be through public transportation or vehicle. The lobby is clean and inviting.The staff greeted us and gave us a complementary upgrade of our room because of our wedding anniversary.The room was conveniently located right outside the elevator. It was a wonderful clean suite with a king size bed, sofa room and complementary coffee pods. We were surprised by having a wonderful fruit bowl of grapes, an orange and an Apple. The room was clean and the bathroom was the size of a medium closet.   Now, this is going to be a difficult review for me to write, because I just do not think I am crazy about the city of San Francisco. The hotel itself was very nice, the staff was friendly, it was actually the same man just about the entire time and he was so sweet. He made us feel very welcome each time we entered the hotel. However, because my understanding of the city, it is hard for me to say it is centrally located considering how un-walkable San Francisco felt. Yes, it may be a 1-2 mile walk to wherever you are going, but that walk is going up and down steep hills, so it makes things more complicated than a leisurely stroll along a sidewalk. We tried taking a street car to Lombard street, but it is a busy street and the stops for each street car are quick, so you have to be fast and mindful of traffic to be able to get on the one right next to the hotel. That being said, if your primary mode of transportation within the city is street cars, I would suggest you have a backup plan because it can be intimidating to run out into that intersection. One thing that we did not like very much was the parking situation. It was paid, and in a general garage. Navigating getting out of the garage as a pedestrian to get to one of the streets we wanted to exit to was kind of confusing and similarly confusing when you are going to park in it as well- nothing that doesn't get resolved with a few minutes of exploration though. Overall, this hotel was very clean, comfortable, and our room was spacious. The staff provided us with a wonderful interaction each day, and the decor was lovely.   Beautiful hotel! So clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and was very cozy. After the hustle and bustle of sightseeing in San Francisco, walking into the hotel was like a welcoming hug.   Hidden gem

  This hotel exceeded my expectations. The king room was so spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept on. The pillows were perfect. No complaints at all. I LOVED the fresh flowers in the lobby. The location is right on the edge of Union Square and Chinatown, primarily a residential area. It is one of my favorite areas of San Francisco-having lived in the city years ago. Many bars, restaurants, shops and convenience stores are nearby and public transit is right there. You can hop on a cable car and get to the wharf in minutes. I love the atmosphere of being so close to Chinatown and North Beach. Be aware it is very steep in areas-be ready to get a workout! The value of this room far exceeds many other options in San Francisco. All of the staff I encountered were polite and helpful. I will be back.
