    Knock loudly on office door if no one is at the desk. Maybe someone will come out, maybe not. Plan your arrival accordingly.

    Hotel property is nice, but front desk staff rarely attended the front desk. Evening employee made me feel as if I was intruding on his personal time...Room mostly clean (floor needed to be mopped). Bed and furniture comfortable. Everything functioning.     Large Sign "Comfort Inn Now Open" indicates it must have been closed for renovation. The site is open, but shows it needs some work before meeting Comfort Inn standards.The desk and lobby were unmanned at 4pm when we arrived for checkin. After 15 minutes, the clerk returned (very nice person) who checked us into our rooms. The first room we went to was dirty: had not been cleaned from the previous guest.The second room lacked the Dish Network receiver for the TV, so we requested a third room.The room was comfortable, but the decor lacked any color. Kinda bland. The beds were clean and comfortable, and I do like the showers which are the low step in style. Breakfast was lacking: the only hot offering were the waffles; no eggs, sausages, etc. Coffee was good, and the usual cold offerings were available. The lobby was unmanned the entire time we were in the breakfast area.     Just ok. The room wasn’t very clean, had sticky or some dark build up under the cabinet in the bathroom. Hair on the shower curtain from other people. The person who checked us in was nice, gave us a key to the room..unlocked the door and it was occupied! So we went back to the front desk..she gave us another room located to the one we just walked in on. Yes, the people were in there. Awkward for us scary for them. Easy drive to gilroy gardens. But because they gave us a key to an occupied room I didn’t feel safe there with my family.
