Located on one of Southern California's most beautiful coastlines, the hotel is situated in a dramatic, mission-style Santa Barbara resort spanning 24 acres. It is located just 1 km from the city centre and 20 minutes from the airport via complimentary shuttle service (available until 9 pm daily), making the hotel the ideal destination for business or leisure travel.

The hotel has a lift and features 360 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. Check-in was a very long process as they only had one person at the front desk. Staff was very unfamiliar with any kind of questions as they had lacked training. The grounds were complete dismay, bushes, plants, grass areas, all dead. The air-conditioning vent was on the ceiling in the bathroom, something was wrong with the air-conditioning and it leaked all night leaving a huge puddle of water on the floor. Fortunately we didn’t fall. Then there was mold along the bottom of the shower. We asked to have our room moved the next morning, but we’re not able to get in until 4 o’clock that evening. I spoke with the front desk manager and asked that they refund the cost of that room for the night, which was almost $500. She said she would take care of that then upon checkout, they had not removed that from the bill and one asked to see the manager, they said she was not available and in a meeting. I took my husband there for his birthday and our weekend was was a series of Hotel disappointments .

When we arrived to check in, we were told they had over booked the ADA room we had selected. We were very disappointed! However, Alexx quickly responded by offering an updgraded ADA room in the exact location we needed to accommodate our disabilities. Alexx when the extra mile to make sure we had an exceptional experience. He was professional and welcoming. It’s not a Hilton experience, it’s an overpriced, understaffed mess.

At this price point nothing here is up to the standards of a Hilton property. The hotel is vastly understaffed. The hotel shuttle is in use for the two airlines that have crews overnighting at the property. They are so understaffed at the bellmen desk they only run the van for the airline crews. If you need to speak to someone at the property about a problem, they are too busy working short staffed to answer the phone. The phone will ring 12-15 times before it’s hung up. The AI and the text option is also a waste of time. Others have mentioned the coffee maker, it’s absolutely as bad as described. They don’t provide actual coffee cups. They provide plastic/ rubber cups that melt with the hot coffee. Don’t try to call anyone at housekeeping because that call goes through the front desk and they are too busy working short staffed to answer the phone. I have never witnessed a group of employees trying to do their best with no support and no staffing. They obviously care about the guest because they keep showing up to work. As a guest, Hilton needs to do better. The guest experience is severely lacking in amenities and staff support to the customer. To the management running this location you need to do better. Things here are broken. I watched your employees and the overall operation and you have quite a few things that need attention. We could start with a good cleaning of the fabric on all the lobby chairs and couches, a good shampooing of the carpet in the lobby area. Next we really need to move on to having someone actually answer the phone and not pick it up and then hang it up. In four days I spoke to the hotel operator once, Bootsie, she is the only reason I didn’t move to another property the first day.
