Clean and comfortable
07 Jun 2026
Stayed here for a long weekend. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. Our room was at the back of the hotel so the noise issue wasn’t as pronounced. Conveniently located near River Street and City Market. Breakfast was ok. Say hi to Miss Janice at reception!

COCKROACHES!! Stay away!
22 Apr 2026
It is currently after 2 am and we have just left this property!I have never seen such a disgusting sight!Woke at 2 am to roaches crawling all over the room! Woke to one on the nightstand!Looked and saw them ALL over! I have photos and video (unable to add video)!! We now see that there have been several complaints about roaches! Can not believe we are now stranded in Savannah! 1000 miles from home! We are not even going to stay in the city! This has ruined our trip! Have my father and our dog! I have NEVER in my life stayed at a more disgusting place! I intend on making anyone and everyone aware of this! Now we have to get our money back from hotels.com!! Unreal! Room 105We arrived super late as it was! We’re exhausted and now just going to go home! We were planning a couple day stop on our way back north from Florida!Horrible representation of Savannah! Was our first time here! Gross!! Not interested in coming back! Hotel Management, General Manager at Best Western Savannah Historic District, responded to this review Clover, we sincerely regret the experience you described and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We take all pest-related concerns very seriously and have strict inspection and prevention protocols in place, including working with a professional pest control company. Your comments have been escalated to our team for immediate review so we can fully investigate the situation. We appreciate your feedback and hope for another chance to earn back your trust.

Good Location
21 Apr 2026
Limited, not free parking. No beauty amenities, i.e. shampoo, cond., etc. Did have bar soap. Very noisy on street side. Coffee & breakfast was good, adequate.Staff was extremely nice & helpful. Very close to river walk. Hotel Management, General Manager at Best Western Savannah Historic District, responded to this review Thank you for including the Best Western Savannah Historic District in your recent travels, Margaret! While we regret that a few details fell short of what you hoped for, it's terrific to hear that our friendly service, helpful breakfast, and unbeatable location impressed you. Your feedback about the areas for improvement will be reviewed by our management team. We hope to welcome you back soon so we can work to earn another star or two.

One traumatised tourist at a time. With empathy. By night auditor… KnikkiDont go to this place…
14 Apr 2026
Well. Knikki. The Night auditor was super special in welcoming me at reception that time of the night. I had a very exceptional experience at a restaurant the night before. Freaked me out. The owner of this restaurant must’ve been intoxicated and mentally disturbed and impaired. He kicked a chair at us Was racist and just a monster. She picked up my spirit with regards to how I felt about American people. Had empathy towards my situation and experience. Just lended me an ear. And very professional but also human. She made me feel human again. Thank you KnikkiKeep the momentum going. Sometimes we don’t really understand the next person’s trauma. You made me feel light without knowing me. Just a customer. You made me feel like a person Thank you Hotel Management, General Manager at Best Western Savannah Historic District, responded to this review Although we're regretful that an unfortunate incident occurred elsewhere, it's wonderful to hear that Knikki made you feel welcomed and safe. Our team at the Best Western Savannah Historic District cares deeply about the well-being of our guests and we will be sure to pass your kind remarks along to her. We're happy that you're recovering from the situation, and we hope your travels bring you back soon.
