    Very clean, friendly manager- Desiree & staff & great breakfast, kudos to James, kitchen manager. Only problem- just one elevator worked. Loved hot tub!

    Location is good, Atmosphere is ok, Keshia at the front desk is the best, Ben confused. This time around my stay was terrible. Room was terrible the second I walked into the room I got slapped with the smell of mold. I thought it would disappear after a while if I opened a window or got some air circulating, NO it didn't so after an hour I couldn't take it anymore as I started to experience a terrible headache and feeling nauseated. I requested to move rooms and that wasn't an issue. I was moved to a whole other floor and the same thing, mold. I went back to the front desk and was told there was nothing they could do and apologized and suggested I wear a mask. As I went back to my room the guy working at the front desk had assigned my room to someone else and they were trying to enter my assigned room. Went back down to desk for the 4th time and explained what was happening. I asked for a refund and was told that wasn't possible. I actually went to the doctor because I had such a terrible migraine and was feeling nauseated. Once I left that room after about 2 hours, I started feeling much better, so it was the mold. You could see it in the window, in the sink and smell it coming out of the AC unit and the carpet is old and dirty so no telling what is in the carpet, disgusting. The smell of marijuana in the hallway and partying until 2:00am. NOPE.... For as much as I have stayed at this particular location, this was the straw that broke the camel's back and is completely unacceptable and I will NEVER stay at Best Western Alderwood again. I hate leaving negative comments, but this was way too much and people need to know.

    The rate of the stay through the Best Western website was great. The property was conveniently located to an overwhelmingly large option of restaurants which was a plus. The property it self was a little dated but very clean and seemed well kept for the most part. The problems with the stay started with absolutely zero WiFi coverage in our room. We didn’t find this out until after we had unpacked and settled in, so when the solution was to offer us a different room was not really an option. Thankfully our phones had great reception, but if you are needing WiFi for work this may be an issue. There were not other attempts made to correct the situation. The second issue was a lack of convenient plugins at the night stand. We had two cpap users. There was one plugin available on the base of the lamp, but it was so loose that anything plugged in wouldn’t stay powered on. So I moved the night stand to plug in the power strip I always bring and was surprised that the wall plug was behind the bed. I was barely able to get the base of the bed to move but was just able to get the plug into the wall. I really think it could be a 4 or 5 point stay if they updated their WiFi and paid attention to little things like accessible plugins by the nightstands.

    Super friendly front desk staff but the real unexpected bonus was breakfast! Did not expect fresh biscuits with homemade gravy and chicken-fried steak along with eggs and cheese, waffles, and the most interesting fruit salad I've seen at a breakfast buffet. Several guests seemed to be repeaters. Lots of amenities and public spaces are open and inviting.

    James at the breakfast bar was an AMAZING attendant. He made our stay even better. He was incredibly friendly and always quick to refill coffees, help with plates, and kept a clean dining room. We would come here again!!
