    Extended STAY AWAY.

    rating07 Oct 2025

Stay away! This is not even close to a 2.5 star property. I would have left but it was a non-refundable rate (thanks Priceline). My room smelled like fried food the entire week. Walls are thin and someone played their music all night long the entire week. Room was not touched - no new towels, beds not made, it’s as if housekeeping didn’t know the room was occupied. The neighborhood is somewhat sketch, but that seems to be the case for most of Tacoma, unfortunately. Grab and go breakfast is a joke. Two coffee options (no decaf) and hot water with tea bags - no decaf options. Generic individually wrapped muffins - 2 choices, and one variety of generic nutri-grain type bar. Oh, also instant oatmeal packages. This is the absolute worst place I’ve stayed in 50 years of travel. Not sure how this place has had so many positive reviews, but ignore them and stay somewhere else (outside of Tacoma)! ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Tacoma - South, responded to this review Dear Guest, We sincerely apologize for the multiple issues you encountered during your stay, including the room odor, noise, and lack of housekeeping service. We’re also sorry that our grab-and-go breakfast did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is extremely valuable, and we are addressing these concerns with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure improvements are made. We truly regret that your stay did not reflect our usual standards and appreciate your honesty. We hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to serve you better.Sincerely,Hotel Management

    Free crack pipe

    rating06 Jul 2025

Hands down the worst hotel stay of my life. Usually I like to be cool, but the entire hallway to my room was cold to the point of needing a jacket to get to my room. On the way, the hallway smelled like urine. My room had dirty towels in the kitchen, a brown stain on the bed and a crack pipe in the kitchen cabinet. We were given a different room and it was cleaner, but a smell of stale urine permeated everything. We went to dinner and brought our leftovers knowing we had a kitchen and microwave, however no utensils whatsoever. You have to go to the front desk and request items for your kitchen. In the morning we went down for our free breakfast and was greeted by coffee, a tiny mini muffin and oatmeal packets that you apparently have to eat out of a coffee cup. Good news is I will know where not to stay in the future ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Tacoma - South, responded to this review Dear valleyjayjay, We sincerely apologize for the conditions you encountered during your stay. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and satisfying visit for every guest, and what you’ve described is completely unacceptable and falls far below the standards we strive to uphold. We understand how upsetting it must have been for you to have concerns regarding cleanliness and maintenance while with us. We also apologize for the lack of clarity about the kitchen supplies and your disappointment with our breakfast options. Your feedback has been shared with the respective teams. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have also initiated the refund and appreciate your patience. We hope to accommodate you again with a more seamless experience next time.Sincerely,Hotel Management

First time Tacoma Extended Stay experience.

    rating26 Jun 2025

First time visiting Tacoma. Found Extended Stay online. Were not aware of any specific reviews until we checked in. In general the positive: comfortable clean bed. Friendly desk persons. Negative; bedside lamp without bulbs. Took 2 days for replacement lamp since there were, according to desk person, no replacement bulbs available. Carpets very stained. Dogs barking in other nearby guest rooms. No breakfast served even though offered online. Desk said due to Covid rules just coffee and packaged muffins offered 6-9am.. Extra charge for housekeeping so we did without x 4 nights. Spotty wi fi connection. ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Tacoma - South, responded to this review Dear 730titam, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you found the bed comfortable and that our front desk team is welcoming. That said, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the bedside lamp in your room. We’re reviewing our inventory and response procedures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We also regret that the condition of the carpets and the noise from nearby rooms detracted from your comfort. Your comments have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for immediate attention. We also understand your disappointment with the breakfast options and the lack of reliable internet connectivity. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve. We hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to provide a smoother, more enjoyable stay in the future.Sincerely,Hotel Management

First time at this hotel, they gave us the top floor, room was spacious, there wasn’t any pillow cases in our pillows, that was the first red flag. Our tv was really small and shower wasn’t strong enough. They only had one washer & 4 dryers, so when needed for towel exchange, they had you come back 3hrs later to give you new ones. This hotel has rats, I found mouse traps under the kitchen sink near the trash bin. Under the bed you can smell how stinky the carpet is. This hotel had about 3 fires that occurred the time I came. First fire they said someone put a box on top of their stove and forget it was there, the second fire, someone started it in the back of the building and the 3rd fire it was unknown. We then decided to leave because 3 fires in less than a week is crazy work. Overall wouldn’t recommend this hotel for nobody. They need an upgrade. ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Tacoma - South, responded to this review Dear 942kianai, Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your comments. It is very understandable how these events detracted from a relaxing and seamless visit. We strive to create an exceptional, memorable stay for each guest, so please accept our apologies that this was not your experience. We are grateful that you have brought these concerns to our attention, as we are continually growing and improving from our guest feedback. We hope to have another occasion to host you and provide you with the seamless stay you deserve!Sincerely,Hotel Management
