    Stayed here to go to my granddaughter's gymnastics competition at the convention center. Hotel is OK but nothing really great. Very noisy all night from noise outside such as trains and sirens. Also could not really watch tv because the sound was so distorted. My daughter and her family stayed in another room and had to move because of the intense moldy smell in the original room. Probably would stay elsewhere such as the Marriott next time.

    Spouse was life flighted to nearby hospital, requested lodging in the early morning hours. Turned away since we had no reservation. Front desk clerk was not apologetic or compassionate about our circumstances. Left message x 2 with manager Juan who returned call several days later and said I did not "get my story straight" since another couple he spoke with that night said the night clerk was "fine." He had already given a hotel voucher to the other couple we were with and told us to "talk to them and share it."Very poor service, poor service recovery. We left and went to Holiday Inn where the staff were lovely, gracious and accommodating. My advice is to stay away from Hilton Tacoma.

    I was really pleased with our room at the Hilton Garden Inn Tacoma Downtown. It appeared to be recently remodeled, so everything was clean and fresh. I loved the view from our room, especially being able to see Mt. Rainier. My husband has cat allergies; I realize that all Hilton Garden Inns are pet-friendly, but Nichole at the front desk was able to accommodate us. We opted for garage parking ($18 per night) but there is street parking available.We were able to walk to the Tacoma Art Museum and the Museum of Glass, and there are many restaurants within walking distance. There is also a restaurant located at the hotel but we did not dine there.I have one serious concern about safety (and sleep quality) at this hotel. On the first night of our stay, the fire alarm went off at 1:30 a.m. It went off again at 4:45 a.m. and continued intermittently for the next 35 minutes. We exited the hotel, and the security guard told us it was a false alarm. There was no explanation or apology from the hotel.

    WAIT, WHAT...?! A 2-BEDROOM/2-BATH SUITE AT A HILTON GARDEN INN...?!

    If you have spent any amount of time in a Hilton Garden Inn, you know that a true rarity is a 2-Bedroom/2-Bath Suite (one shower, one bath tub). Here, you can find one -- along with first-rate Hilton service from every employee, starting with Lucia at the Front Desk. She got us right into our room and even gave us perfect directions on how to walk (just 10 minutes) to the nearby Glass Museum. Lucia was friendly and professional, which is a wonderful way to begin a hotel stay. Parking is just $15 and you can pull right up to the lobby entrance to unload your luggage onto carts, then drive up one floor for secured/gated parking. There is an elevator just steps from your car. While the windows do not open, there is a balcony off one bedroom and lots of windows to enjoy the downtown skyline view. A real pleasure here, very good show GM Jose.

    Poor front desk customer service

    The initial experience to the property was very disappointing. Upon arrival, there was an issue with my reservation. They could not find my name, and it turned out the front desk lady had actually cancelled it by accident earlier in the day, confusing my name with someone else. Her attitude through the whole process was very cold and unwelcoming. I was very patient and stood there for nearly an hour while she got it fixed. I could have made a huge fuss, but did not want to be quick to overreact, as mistakes happen. This hotel employee seemed very disturbed by the whole situation and did not seem any bit apologetic, as if it were my fault. Throughout the stay, any time I would stop at the front desk to ask a question, or observations of mine of her with other guests, her attitude remained the same, very bothered and showing little appetite to provide any sort of customer service.
