Nice hotel in a great location!

Very nice hotel in a great location. Free shuttle to Tropicana field and the “looper” all around St Pete. Never needed the car after checkin. Beautiful hotel within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. As a Hilton member for many years was disappointed there was no complimentary coffee and the parking was $45 daily. Centrally Located Hotel in Need of a Renovation

It's very surprising that corporate has not yet chosen to renovate and update this well-located Hilton hotel in downtown St. Petersburg. The rooms definitely look dated, shabby and worse-for-wear. I stayed in one of their suites, which at the height of season can go for as much as $400+ a night. The carpet looked worn and faded and a couple of the lampshades had actual holes and stains. The common areas also could use a major refresh. By contrast, the recently renovated and very well-run Hampton Inn (another Hilton property) a few blocks away makes for a more pleasant stay. Another big issue is the food in the hotel. The $21 sandwich I ordered in the lounge was pretty much inedible, surprising for a Hilton property, as they seem to be upgrading their restaurants of late. On the plus side, the staff was warm and helpful, which seems to be a Hilton trait. They are the reason I gave my stay three "stars" instead of two. My stay at Hilton Bayfront was very good — comfortable room, clean facilities, and a convenient location. Unfortunately my positive experience was marred by a serious billing and customer service issue.Days after checkout I was wrongly charged for valet even though I never had a vehicle. I waited for my deposit to be returned, called multiple times, and was repeatedly hung up on by staff. The front desk was unable to resolve the situation in a timely manner and I was told I now have to wait two weeks for a refund for their error. This level of service is unacceptable. Please address your billing controls and train staff to handle guest concerns respectfully and promptly. I’d like to return someday, but this experience needs correcting before I can recommend the hotel without reservation.
