    Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

    rating19 Aug 2026

The front desk staff very friendly, extremely patient and accommodating as we needed to change rooms. Location is convenient. Otherwise rooms are in need of update. One elevator bank not working. Carpets in need of deep cleaning. No coffee available until morning breakfast when requested at hotel restaurant at only 6pm in the evening. Gym is nominal. Didn’t use pool. This hotel will meet basic needs for short stay but could do better for the price point. Have stayed at other Hilton garden inns that were much fresher. This property is average at best. Guest Experience Team, Owner at Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad our front desk team was friendly, patient, and accommodating when you needed to change rooms, and that you found the location convenient. We’re sorry, however, that several aspects of the property did not meet the standard you expected from Hilton Garden Inn. We understand your concerns about the dated rooms, carpets, elevator availability, and limited coffee service in the evening. We’ve shared these comments with our management, maintenance, and housekeeping teams so the elevator issue can be followed up on, the carpets can receive a deeper cleaning, and opportunities for room updates can be reviewed. We’ll also review how coffee availability is communicated and supported outside breakfast hours. We appreciate your candid feedback, especially as a returning Hilton Garden Inn guest. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a fresher, more comfortable experience that better reflects the standard you expect from the brand.Best,The Hilton Garden Inn Team

    Terrible experience

    rating19 Jul 2026

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! This was by far my worst experience with a Hilton hotel. On the first day, the WiFi didn’t work. The next morning, there was no hot water and I had to take a cold shower. The entrance door at the far end of the hotel was unlocked for our entire stay. The one working ice machine on the 2nd floor stopped working on the second day of our stay. I did a load of laundry on our last night and the dryer was terrible. Even though I ran it twice, my clothes weren’t dry. I was forced to dry my clothes with the hair dryer in the room at 11:30 at night. The staff at the hotel said there was nothing they could do and directed my request to the general manager, Steven Haight. I emailed Haight twice and have not received any response. Guest Experience Team, Owner at Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, David. We're truly sorry to hear about the series of issues you experienced during your stay. We understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with the Wi-Fi outage, lack of hot water, maintenance concerns, laundry equipment issues, and the difficulty you encountered when trying to get assistance afterward. This is not the level of service or reliability we strive to provide. Your comments have been shared with our leadership, maintenance, and operations teams for immediate review. We are inspecting the hot water system, Wi-Fi, exterior door security, ice machines, and laundry equipment to ensure these issues are properly addressed. We're also reviewing our guest follow-up process to ensure concerns receive timely responses and better communication. We sincerely appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention. Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide the quality experience you should have received.Best,The Hilton Garden Inn Team

Tired rooms need makeover and more attention to detail.

Somewhat sad condition. Outside is nice, but the room left a lot to be desired. Regular Hilton brand fan, but not this time. Room needed paint and other makeovers, new mattress, etc. Bathroom toilet seat was loose enough to come off. Hot water was beyond insanely hot. None of the ice makers had ice and appeared to be disconnected from water. Overall too many issues to ignore. Guest Experience Team, Owner at Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not reflect the level of quality you expect from our brand. We understand how frustrating it is to encounter multiple maintenance concerns during your visit. Your comments regarding the condition of the room, the mattress, the loose toilet seat, excessively hot water, and the unavailable ice machines have been shared with our maintenance and engineering teams for immediate review. We are inspecting these areas, prioritizing the necessary repairs, and reinforcing routine room inspections to ensure these issues are identified and resolved before future guest arrivals. We sincerely appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us improve. We regret that we fell short during your stay and hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide the comfortable and well-maintained experience you expected.Best,The Hilton Garden Inn Team

Terrible - Avoid at All Costs !!

    rating01 Jun 2026

The Good:Chris at the front desk was very helpful & friendly. The chef (May 29) was very cheerful and helpful. It was a 2 minute walk to the excellent Oak and Almond.-The Bad:Broken elevator with NO repair work evidenced during our 3 weekday stay.No in-room safes.Premium charges totaling about $250 per night. I’ve had better rooms and breakfasts for $135 per night.Rude service by Michael - the breakfast attendant: refused to refill the courtesy water jar in the lobby.Additional charges to use the exercise roomRefused to permit a 1-hour small group gathering in an unused conference room area, and even then there would have been a significant charge for rental. The breakfast menu was comprehensive and reasonably priced, however the food was only warm and the coffee cold. Scrambled eggs were cool, sausage and potatoes were dried out.Multiple duplicate charges were logged by my Bank during our stay and the final receipt sent to me by eMail was woefully incomplete. We had a total of 6 rooms booked against my Hilton Honors account (2 of our 4 families needed an adjoining double room), yet only ONE of the bills for our four family groups was sent to me. That receipt was undecipherable as to which charges were linked to each of the linked double / connected rooms. I now expect this will take weeks of financial disentanglements to clarify. Guest Experience Team, Owner at Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations, particularly given the number of rooms booked for your family gathering. We do appreciate your kind comments about Chris at the front desk and our chef. It is always encouraging to hear when team members help make a positive impression. That said, we understand your frustration regarding the elevator outage, billing concerns, breakfast experience, and some of the service interactions you encountered. We recognize how important convenience, clear communication, and accurate billing are, especially when coordinating multiple rooms under one reservation account. We're particularly sorry to hear that the final stages of your stay left you with questions about charges and documentation. We understand how frustrating that can be when traveling with family and managing multiple reservations.Thank you again for sharing your experience. Feedback like yours helps us identify opportunities to improve both our facilities and the overall guest experience.Best,The Hilton Garden Inn Team

    Worst experience possible

    rating12 Apr 2026

We made our reservation 2mo ths before going and called to asking the pool would be open. They said it would be open April 1st after maintenance. We showed up to check in and the rude and unkempt front desk women told us that they were shut down till the 31st. When I said that was unacceptable the unproffesional barely literate front desk decided to argue with me over a refund for cancelation. They changed the opening date after we booked without telling any of their reservations about the change. The usual suspects running the asylum. Place looked like it was rife with crime from the staff. Avoid at all costs. Guest Experience Team, Owner at Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk, responded to this review Hi James, I’m really sorry to hear about your experience when you arrived. This is not the kind of welcome or communication we want for our guests. Most visitors find our front desk team to be warm and accommodating, so your description is concerning and we will certainly be looking into what happened here. Our maintenance schedule for the pool can shift when additional work is needed, but that should always be clearly communicated in advance so guests can plan accordingly. Thank you for calling this out so we can address both the clarity of our updates and how our team handles these conversations at check-in. If you’d like to speak directly about your reservation details or refund question, please reach out to us at the hotel at 203-523-4000. We appreciate you sharing this with us and will use your feedback to make sure future guests have a smoother experience.Best,The Hilton Garden Inn Team
