  There are hotels you use…and there are places that take care of you.The Lloyd is the second.Every time I’m in Stamford, this is my spot — no debate. It feels less like checking in and more like coming home.During the big snowstorm on January 25, my car was completely buried. Dead stop. Snowed in. Nowhere to go.Nico and Juan grabbed a shovel and a snowblower and went to work immediately.No hesitation. No “not my job.”They dug me out like family.That moment told me everything about this place.Anyone can smile behind a desk.Very few people step outside in the cold and physically solve your problem.That’s character. That’s pride. That’s real hospitality.Add to that: • Live sax players on Friday nights — smooth, relaxed, grown-up vibe • A warm, boutique feel instead of a sterile chain atmosphere • Staff who remember your name and genuinely careSam and the entire team consistently make me feel valued and welcome. It’s rare. And it matters.Bottom line:When I’m in Stamford, I don’t shop around.This is my home base.The Lloyd is the only place I stay.

  Hotel was nice, no free breakfast and no free parking which are downsides. Also we weren’t able to go to happy hour because they were renovating the bar area so I don’t know why they offered it to begin with. The room was nice and clean though.

  We had a great stay at the Lloyd. After a family member went into early labor, we had to book same-day hotel rooms for 4 people. Samantha Nieves, a wonderfully helpful and friendly front desk staffer, helped us book rooms that had early check in and were on the same floor. She made a chaotic few days seamless from a lodgings perspective.The accommodations were also comfortable and newly renovated. My only piece of advice is to add a trashcan to the front lobby area!
