    Just a quick one

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Move-In Weekend Survival Headquarters”We stayed at Home2 Suites across from USF for one night while helping our kid move into the dorms, and somehow they managed to make one of the most stressful weekends of the year feel like a mini vacation. The lady at check-in deserves a raise, a trophy, and possibly her own parking space. She was incredibly friendly and explained every amenity with the enthusiasm of someone introducing us to a luxury resort instead of a hotel. Before we knew it, we were checked in, smiling, and already feeling better about tuition bills. The lobby was spotless and welcoming, and they even gave us complimentary water and chips at arrival. At that point I started wondering if I had accidentally booked a five star resort. The room was fantastic. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were perfect, and the sofa bed had its own slide out privacy curtain. Whoever designed that deserves recognition because they clearly understand family travel and the need to occasionally hide from each other. My favorite detail? They left earplugs next to the bed. That’s confidence right there. They’re basically saying, You won’t need these, but we’re prepared for everything. That’s the kind of planning I respect. To top it all off, they gave us a 1:00 PM checkout. After carrying boxes, assembling furniture, and pretending I knew how to put together dorm room storage, that extra time felt like winning the lottery.Overall, this place knows exactly what it’s doing. Great staff, comfortable rooms, thoughtful touches, and enough hospitality to make you forget how much college costs. If you’re visiting USF, do yourself a favor and stay here. They definitely know what time it is.

    HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE

    rating22 Dec 2025

My experience with this property was terrible. I made my reservation on this site through Expedia, we drove 10 hours from North Carolina for my daughter's graduation and when we got there around 10 pm they said my reservation was canceled because their policy is to pay 24 hours in advance, when i made my reservation the only choices were to paid in advance or pay at property (higher price), which i reserved. The lady took a long time to come to the front, somebody said she was in the bathroom, she said that someone called me and sent an email, which was not true. I was traveling with my mother who is 81 years old, she was exhausted and needed to rest. I had never experienced such a horrible nightmare, we went to other two hotels to finally find a room; they could not believe what the home2 suites did to us.I really hope nobody ever has to experience this.

Paper thin walls but wonderful staff!

    rating11 Dec 2025

A comfortable 2-night stay, my first time at this hotel (though not my first time in Tampa). Super lovely, warm and friendly welcome upon arrival, and my room was ready before official check-in — bright, spacious and clean. They only seemed to have one luggage cart at the time, and it had seen better days, but I managed to get everything upstairs! My room felt very stuffy. Even though I had the a/c on 66, the temperature on the wall suggested it never dropped below 70. The hallway was also very warm (I think the heat was on), so I was grateful for some temperature control in my room.Bed was clean and cozy, but the mattress and pillows far too soft for my liking.Decent gym with a guest laundry attached, but all treadmills were out of service during my visit :( Parking is free, but do make sure you grab a parking pass for your vehicle.Location is literally on the USF campus, and there are several restaurants and shops within walking distance, but mostly fast food. There’s also a Publix a 4-minute drive down the main drag (though I chose to walk there). Far more convenient if you have a car, I’d say :)Biggest negative? Super thin walls — the lady in the room next to me was on the phone for ages and I heard every single word she said… I could also hear people walking/thumping about in the rooms above. I think the hotel is aware of the very thin walls and floors, as they do provide earplugs near the bed! Though I don’t think it has anything to do with a “noisy city” (see photo) 🤔SIDE NOTE: Housekeeping are super sweet and some of the hardest working staff I’ve ever encountered!

    Horrible

    rating06 Oct 2025

I’ve had to call the front desk the last two nights because of loud noise, and it’s now after midnight with still no help. I can’t get any sleep, and the staff doesn’t seem to care at all. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.
