    Misleading website and representative when booked

    We stayed for 3 nights. The resort was destroyed by hurricane Helene. It is not fully functional. only 1 building with 52 rooms can house guests, not 196 rooms as their website advertises. the pool has no umbrellas or awnings so you are in full sun. The restaurant and tikii bar do not exist and will reopen next year. The continental breakfast was ok but did not include the typical bananas or hard boiled eggs. The staff person who works the breakfast counter was very warm and pleasant greeting each guest with good morning, a smile and enjoy your day. We were charged an $89 resort fee. when we questioned this, we were transferred via phone to a manager who did not deduct the fee even though there were no resort amenities other than a pool.On a positive note, our room was clean,air conditioned and appropriate size. The ability to rent kayaks and take a cruise on the property was a selling point for us. We did not hear any construction during our stay May 29-june 1.

    Terrible front desk service Heather. Amazingly rude Clearly not happy working for this hotel Argumentative and rude. Staff at pool. One day shockingly rude Don’t stay here. Awful people. Used to be great spot. Location nice. They are renovating terrible rooms. Currently

    This resort was highly recommended by friends. Upon booking and through subsequent phone calls I was never informed that the resort is under total renovation. Restaurant, pool bar were closed plus construction noise started around 8:30. It took me multiple requests to speak to the manager and phone calls to her that were not returned. When I finally got through she said the website clearly states they are under renovation (which you have to read through to find it) plus she said her staff tell any future guests about it when they call. I made 3 calls prior to my stay and renovations were not mentioned. The manager offered nothing for the inconvenience and basically didn’t care. I will not return for this reason.

    DO NOT stay here! Rooms very substandard. No umbrellas at the pool. Linens paper thin. Grounds a mess. Fountain not working. Construction still on premises, which we were not told about at time of booking. Paid xtra for a waterfront room. The “waterfront “ was a small view of a canal. The plastic chairs on our terrace were filthy. At booking, we were told that there were restaurants within walking distance. Another untruth. We asked if we could leave a day early because of everything I mention above. We were told that we could and we would get a credit for the second night. We got home and they changed their minds about the credit. Not only did they keep our second night dollars, they charged us $25 for not staying a second night! They were not willing to discuss further. Thankfully, my credit card company got us the second night credit. There are better places to stay in Crystal River.

    There were no towels in bathroom. Loud room no carpet. Shower dripped. Small bathroom. Horrible old chairs in room. Clock not working
