  Highly recommend the Clarion

  I have been coming here for over 5 years every May and October for the National Women's Half Marathon in May and Marine Corps Marathon in October. It is in an ideal location in that it is close to the Metro, great restaurants close by, and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful. The rooms are always very clean, beds are comfortable, and there is terrific water pressure. Also the towels and linens always smell fresh and clean which is a huge bonus. Their breakfast area is on the 8th floor with a view of the Washington Monument. Lots of breakfast options both hot and cold. Once again our May stay was wonderful.   Great location for visiting DC

  The hotel is in a really good location. It is close to a Metro station and only three stops to downtown DC. You rarely have to use your car. There are some decent restaurants within walking distance. Our suite was really large. It was clean and quiet. The breakfast was better than some places with decent choices.   3rd time here, price good, 3.5 star review

  Check in easy, did not see long lines ever at front desk. Three elevators, 2 worked but were fast and Never a long wait. Rooms nice in size, a bit dated. all working were full fridge/freezer, microwave (although our turntable didn't turn), stove, dishwashwsher (staff that made up rooms mondays, fridays, or check out days washed dishes for us, nice touch. Beds, lighting so/so. Noise from traffic & planes not to bad, but may opt for room in back if you're fussy about that. Wifi very good. Breakfast four main buffet options, were scrambled/omelets, potatoes, bacon/sausage, so so pancakes. Dry cereal or fresh oatmeal avail, as was yogurt, bread/toast/bagels, Danish, muffins. No waffle maker. Coffee, orange/apple juice, water. Equal avail, or bring your own splenda. Tables plentiful unless you show up late and if so, good luck on busy days. Overall slightly better than average. Parking on site, outdoors $20/night. Negatives shower pressure very low, as bad as I've ever seen anywhere in many years of travel. Staff offered a engineer to come up but we refused. Also in winter a/c unit pops on. Not sure how temps regulated but that sure was strange so we shut it off on the thermo. Overall we may try to look for an alternative next time but if you are looking for value/bang for buck... at this price, not too bad. Walk to court house metro 10 min. Perhaps if you don't mind a 20/25 min walk Rosslyn station nearby to right and a Safeway, Target provide grocery items. DC is so much fun, enjoy! While our team did offer to send an engineer, I respect your decision to decline.
