  The room had everything I needed: clean sheets, working shower, A/C, shampoo, wifi, fridge, microwave, a good price, and helpful staff.   Days Inn by Wyndham in Pentagon City has a significant issue: the attitude of its front desk staff. They are cold, distant, and even indifferent, which can vary based on your skin color. For instance, I observed firsthand that the same person who greeted me with cold indifference suddenly changed his demeanor when a rough white male approached. He quickly transitioned from indifference to subservience. You can expect no courtesy, smiles, small talk, or even basic human interaction from them. Days Inn is not a hotel; it’s a motel catering to a specific clientele. While the rooms and light breakfast are acceptable for the price, don’t expect high standards or decent behavior from people who don’t share or live up to such values.   I probably went at a bad time. It was a nightmare. I arrived in DV to go to a funeral the next day. After a long drive I needed a place to get some rest. I arrived and thought it was the wrong location. It seems like a location where they rent rooms by the hour, you need a weapon to defend yourself, and a tetanus shot once you leave. Construction going on, so it was loud. I entered the room, the dresser was totally unusable, the air conditioner is a mess, the bathroom is in dire need of a clean-up and paint job, just to mention a few. The room I was presented with was nothing at all what is shown on their website. I left within 10 minutes of arriving and went to a different hotel. However, the staff member at the front desk was very accommodating, which was the only positive thing during this entire experience.   Very positive experience. Very very competitive price so we did not expect a lot. Wrong. We were positively surprised. Friendly checkin. Actually very tasty coffee in the lobby.We needed to change the room because of cigarette smell but also this was handled very efficient.Comfortable beds and relatively calm even the hotel is near a main street.Therefore quick ans easy access to downtown and the Capitol.Breakfast was okay, better than no breakfast. Worked for a start in the day for two nights.We even returned for a night due to the excellent value. Last time in DC we spent 5 times as much for a nice central hotel. The Days Inn Pentagon works as well!
