    Nightmare!

    rating19 Mar 2026

Location good. I should have known better when the whole name of the hotel was not lit up! Missing a word! Bed was made nicely, that is the only thing. Needs paint, dirty and tired inside. Bathroom sink was cracked. Asked for a bathrobe to use and was told they are only for the 7/8th floor or you can buy for $50. Furniture is chipped. And fabric headboards are creepy. Don't stay here.

    relatively inexpensive but lacks soundproofing

    rating12 Mar 2026

A good option for a relatively inexpensive hotel in the area. The rooms are large, clean, and seem recently renovated, and housekeeping is good. The main drawback is the lack of soundproofing in the windows and the connecting doors. We were lucky that our neighbors were quiet, but we could still clearly hear even normal conversations from the next room. Ian Hawthorne, General Manager at Glover Park Hotel Georgetown, responded to this review Dear valued guest, thank you for taking tome to send us a review my apologies due to the noise from your neighbor. Hits but mostly misses

    rating15 Feb 2026

Stayed here for one night, due to its proximity to American University. The hotel certainly has some quirks. The room was clean. The furnishings were somewhat worn, however, and slightly odd (and mismatched). The layout of the room is also weird, with a long hallway leading to the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was an absolute joke - I can't imagine trying to wash long hair. It was also somewhat noisy, with the windows not doing a great job of filtering outside noise. Basic, good hotel exept breakfast

    rating13 Dec 2025

Hotel is generally fine. Location is perfect, embassies are close. Rooms are old but good. I don't understand idea of wall-to-wall carpet, but it seems to be standard in US. Hotel is clean. No noise walls between rooms, so if there is a night party next room, might need an ear plugs. Definite BIG minus is so called breakfast. They use disposable tableware, even fork and knife. And calling the place a restaurant. Feels like street food kiosk. The warm food is sometimes cold. "Oh, I forgot to change the disposable heater, sorry..."I don't generally understand what americans eat in the morning, only pancakes and coffee? But it might be too much to learn from other places from the world, what kind is a decent breakfast. Summary is still that I can manage until the lunch time. Not recommended, especially for physically challenged guests

    rating11 Nov 2025

I was surprised to read so many positive reviews of this dreadful hotel. There isn't sufficient space to list all the negatives this place has, but begin with a total lack of staff interaction with guests. The front desk was completely noncommunicative and unhelpful both on checking in and checking out. There was no assistance whatsoever (not even an offer) with luggage, so if you're elderly or have difficulty transferring heavy bags from car to room, this definitely isn't the place for you. The hallway rugs were old, worn and threadbare. The room itself was only adequate and had no glassware at all (only plastic cups), no pads of paper, not even a pen or pencil. We asked for two wine glasses at the restaurant and then used them the first night of our stay - they remained where we left them, untouched and unwashed for the next three days. Hot water was sometimes lukewarm and sometimes scalding hot. The handle on the toilet required "jiggling" to get the water to stop running (haven't seen that in years), and the floor in the shower was slippery with no non-skid pad of any type in place. The bathroom was tiny and an accident waiting to happen. The blow-dryer resided on the floor of the bathroom and there were no amenities such as robes, and only one box of tissues for the entire room. The one positive is that the rate was reasonable, being in the Georgetown section of the city during the University's Alumni Weekend. Otherwise. avoid unless you like marginal accommodations.
