It's like a high school Dorm

    rating09 Jun 2026

I'm done. I have been staying here every week recently this year. I have been coming to College Park, MD since March of 2024 staying at either this Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn express down the street. This place is in need of a serious renovation. The biggest pain is the bus loads of kids. It is almost like a high school staying here. I go to the gym at night. There are 12-18 year old kids in it playing around each night like it's some high school locker room. The noise levels are such a pain. One day kids are running down the hall way banging on random doors yelling "room service". Last night was the last straw. I am woke up at 2 AM listening to kids yelling across and in the hallway. I can't stay in a high school dormitory while I do business travel. Each week is are multiple bus loads of kids. If your a business traveler, stay away. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Holiday Inn Washington-College Park (I-95) by IHG, responded to this review Dear Jbw144,We understand from your long-term weekly stays that consistency and a quiet, professional atmosphere are especially important for your work travels, and we’re genuinely sorry that your recent visits have not reflected that expectation. We appreciate you sharing your concerns about the overall activity levels you’ve experienced, particularly during evening and overnight hours, and we recognize how disruptive that can be when rest is a priority. Your feedback is taken seriously, as it helps us better understand the guest experience during high-occupancy periods. We value your continued patronage and hope there may be an opportunity in the future to provide a more settled and comfortable stay that better aligns with your needs.Best Regards,Martin MohabirGeneral Manager

Would Not Return After This Experience

    rating17 Mar 2026

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn College Park as part of a group, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. Before even arriving, I had a few basic questions related to our group stay. Unfortunately, the interaction with “Michelle,” who presented herself as a manager (but was later identified as a front desk supervisor), was unhelpful and dismissive. We were repeatedly told that only the group organizer could speak with them, and despite requesting a call from ownership, no one ever followed up.Once on-site, the experience didn’t improve. While a few front desk staff members were pleasant, others seemed poorly informed and unable to assist with basic questions.Parking was a major issue. The lot was completely full every night, and we were actually told to park in no-parking zones along the curb because there were no available spaces. For a hotel accommodating groups, this is completely unacceptable. The condition of the hotel itself was also below expectations. The carpets were dirty, and the rooms were extremely small compared to other hotels we regularly stay in for hockey tournaments. We travel often for sports and stay in hotels frequently, and this was one of the worst experiences we’ve had. Based on this stay, we would not return and would think twice before booking another Holiday Inn. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Holiday Inn Washington-College Park (I-95) by IHG, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. It’s clear that your experience, from the initial communication through your time on the property, did not meet expectations. The challenges you encountered with group coordination, parking availability, and overall room condition do not reflect the experience we aim to provide, particularly for group stays where organization and consistency are essential. We do appreciate your acknowledgment of some team members, though it’s evident that the overall impression fell short. Your comments have our attention and will be reviewed closely, as they provide important insight into the guest experience.Best Regards,Martin MohabirGeneral Manager

The Only Thing Worse Than Mildew, Rust, Hair, Broken Hardware, And A Missing Drain Plug.... Is The Obnoxious Rooms Division Man

    rating16 Apr 2025

This "newly renovated" hotel is not just dirty, it's falling apart. The toilet is rusted. The hardware is broken off. The floor had roaches and hair. Yes, roaches, plural. The tiling is coming off the walls, as is the wallpaper. The caulking is nasty. But, wait.... yes, wait in the lobby twohours while the manager goes to the hardware store to purchase a tub stopper because there's no maintenance, no housekeeping, and no other room to get a stopper from. Then, she snarkedly tells me she made me whole because she left her house to buy a stopper. She said, maybe this hotel was not suitable for my needs and she could call other options. This place should not suit any paying customer's standard. Two hours in the lobby after driving from CT to MD? And the manager had an attitude because I expected a stopper for the tub WITHOUT, spending two hours waiting to bathe. Yep. The roaches were from my stay in October. Baby roaches all over the bathroom floor. I checked out and went to another hotel. This one was gross. People were standing at the entrance holding back someone's hair because she was retching in the planter and on the sidewalk. I waited six months and tried again. I posted photos on my social media and contacted IHG. When you hotel is a wreck, being a jerk DOES NOT HELP. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Holiday Inn Washington-College Park (I-95) by IHG, responded to this review Dear Cassandra H, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry that your visit did not meet expectations, and we understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter multiple issues after a long journey. Your feedback is of utmost importance to us, and we take these matters seriously. AVOID ~ Go Elsewhere

    rating21 Jan 2025

Terrible experience with this location. I booked a two night stay in October 2024 for a stay that would take place in January 2025. Booking was done through Expedia with a NO money down...pay upon arrival ~ Free Cancellation up until about 5 nights prior to the stay. Well this booking actually turned into a nightmare. During the month of October the "Property management" decided to charge me for a one night advanced charge, without my consent. When questioned, the Manager told me " we decided to do this being that it's a "high volume'Period,....but you can still cancel and get a refund, if your plans change. So.. I went with that. Come the end of November I needed to cancel this trip for family reasons. I did so and waited for a refund. NO refund, I placed numerous calls with numerous messages. NO response by the hotel management. . I then again called December 1st and was told by the manager ...Oh you won't be getting a refund...sorry ,that's a high volume period. Wow, what an unbelievable response by this hotel. Expedia thankfully became involved and rectified the situation . The Hotel called me back and changed their tune and said ..a refund will be issued. Expedia, was very helpful and was able to get my refund expedited. I Thought it was finally over. Five days after this discussion and transaction the property "Holiday Inn Washington College Park" Charged me for the stay AGAIN! From that point I must have made over a dozen calls and left messages to correct this error. NO ONE Ever called me back. No managers were ever there. (vacation excuses for weeks) I spoke with their Guest services/IHG Corporate agents numerous times as well. Finally this January 2025, The IHG guest services were finally able to rectify this nightmare experience. I basically spent 3 months dealing with this unprofessional , incompetent and deceitful hotel and their staff. I would HIGHLY recommend booking ELSEWHERE, Especially if you may need to cancel before your trip. GOOD LUCK if you proceed with them. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Holiday Inn Washington-College Park (I-95) by IHG, responded to this review Dear 492teem,Thank you for your honest evaluation. We are deeply sorry that our staff was not as responsive as they should have been in addressing your concerns. We always aim to follow up and resolve everything to your total satisfaction; therefore, we are disappointed this was not your experience. Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention, and we hope to see you soon to show you the hospitality we are known for providing. Best Regards,Martin MohabirGeneral Manager
