I led a student group here for a week. We had a very pleasant time. The hotel is nice, well-maintained, with a very friendly and attentive staff. There's a nice breakfast buffet. The area is nice-it's right in the city so be prepared for an urban experience; it's close to the metro, lots of shopping and food.I wanted to particularly thank one staff member, Jerome, who worked with us throughout the week and helped resolve issues that came up--he should be commended. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol, responded to this review Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Peter. It is wonderful to know that your group’s week with us at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol was such a positive one, and that you all enjoyed the convenience of our location as well as our breakfast offerings. Jerome will be absolutely delighted to hear your kind words—it means a lot to our whole team when individual efforts make a real difference. We truly appreciate your thoughtful feedback and hope your travels bring you and your students back our way again!

Kindest staff, would stay again

Close enough to subway, limited food options without subway or Uber but front desk happy to help. Nice lobby. Breakfast was not as good with more limited options compared to other same hotel stays elsewhere. The was cereal, toast, something hot, and something cold too eat. Juice, coffee, water available during breakfast hours. Water cooler and coffee wasn't always available at other times, had to go to gym area if wanted water while sitting in lobby. Open shower with curtain vs door makes a mess in bathroom, need extra towels for this. Screen style window curtain allows city views at night but also light at night and early morning sun.Sound machine was a nice touch to block noise and the AC worked well as the temps were rising. Pool just opened but we didn't have time to use it. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol, responded to this review Amanda, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and highlight our team's kindness. We are glad our front desk team could assist during your visit and that you found the lobby and amenities comfortable during your stay at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol. We appreciate you letting us know about the breakfast and water availability, as well as your experience with the bathroom setup. Your feedback helps us continually improve, and we will pass your comments along to our housekeeping, engineering, and Guest Relations teams for review. It means a lot that you would consider staying with us again. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to DC!
