The Lincoln Memorial is 7 minutes' drive and the Washington Memorial is 8 minutes, as is the National Museum of American History, President's Park and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The US Capitol is 12 minutes' drive, and the hotel is conveniently placed for the metro, with Foggy Bottom/GWU station 2 blocks away and Union Station (Amtrak) just a short taxi ride from the hotel. Reagan National and Washington Dulles airports are also only a short drive away.

    The Melrose is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Situated about a five minute walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro and is also close to shops, eateries and two great bars (Marshall’s and ChamThai). About a 20-25 min walk to Lincoln Memorial and the White House. The Metro system is easy to use. Bar, restaurant and lobby area are stunning and the reception staff are brilliant. They are friendly, very professional and look after you well. We stayed in room 401 which was a king sized room. The room was massive with plenty room to walk around. Bed was very comfortable with sockets in the bedside tables (very convenient for mobile phones) and comfortable pillows. The bathroom was clean and tidy with a separate sink area outside next to wardrobe. Really liked this. In a morning between 7-10 free tea and coffee in lobby area and between 10-10 free flavoured water. This is an amazing hotel.
