    Massive business interruption averted because of a GM who went out of his way to assist - not once but twice. I can't be more grateful for Wendell Bush. He personally offered to handle a situation that could only be done locally, as I was in Canada. First time, wrong item ordered, he picked it up, returned it, and picked up the correct item. Service like this should never go without huge thanks and a spotlight on this amazing GM - Wendell, you saved the week for us, and I am so appreciative of you!

    Residence Inn by Marriott Washington DC National Mall was such a great find! The rooms, while in need of a little renovation, were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and the location is excellent—perfect for exploring the city.Highly recommended for family trips! Our granddaughters especially loved making their own pancakes at breakfast, which made the stay even more special

    We stayed at this property in 2024. The staff's friendliness was the reason we returned for 8 nights this year. We had a 2 bedroom suite. We did have some difficulties with our first room that was assigned. It was clean but the furniture was torn and closet doors broken/missing. We were moved to another suite right away, but later that night we realized that the carpet in one of the bedrooms had a horrible (untolerable) odor. The next morning I spoke with the manager to see if they could clean the spot while we were gone for the day. I also let her know that, unlike the first room, only had one lamp in the living room and it only had one dim lightbulb. Also the bedrooms were missing clocks. She offered to move us to another room. I agreed and she generously gave us additional points on our Marriott rewards. She informed me that the hotel will be undergoing renovations in November. The room we moved to had adequate lighting in the living roomHousekeeping at this property is great, the staff are all friendly, and the continental breakfast is amazing. The breakfast staff are all friendly and keep the dining area cleaned and took our plates and offered us bottled water to take with us.There is a gift shop that is reasonably priced for souveniers and there's a nice selection,though sundries are overpriced.There is a Z-Burger on the corner of the building that has good hamburgers and the largest selection of shake flavors that I have ever seen. There's a Starbucks close by. There is also a place called Potbelly's. They had the rudest staff I have ever experienced and would not recommend for that reason alone. Both the L'Enfant and Federal Center SW metro stations are close by. Our personal choice was always Federal Center. The Air & Space museum is an easy walk and the Museum of the Bible is just a few blocks away. If we return to D.C. again, this property will always be our choice based on the room sizes and the friendliness of the staff.

    Pros: Excellent location with easy in & out parking. The only hotel we could find near the National Mall that had a 2 bedroom, 2-bath suite available. Very nice free breakfast with great selection. Housekeeping cleaned every day. Has a small store with a huge selection. Cons: Indoor pool is very small & hot tub had brown suds on top. This hotel needs a bar & restaurant.

    False Advertising and Ongoing Deception — Feels Like Fraud

    We booked this hotel specifically because the listing (both online and in the confirmation email) clearly stated the two-bedroom unit had one queen bed in the first bedroom and one queen bed plus a sofa bed in the second bedroom. That layout was essential for our family. When we arrived, we found out that there was no sofa bed in the second bedroom — meaning one of our kids had to sleep on the couch in the living room, which completely disrupted our stay.We immediately brought this to the front desk. The receptionist didn’t deny it — in fact, they admitted this exact issue has come up with other guests before. So the hotel knows that the information they are advertising is wrong. They are knowingly continuing to mislead customers and doing nothing to fix it. That is not a mistake — that is deceptive business practice. It feels like fraud.There was no compensation offered, no follow-up, and no ownership of the problem. It’s clear this isn’t a one-time error — this is an ongoing pattern of misinformation they’re just hoping guests will put up with. If you're booking based on specific room layouts or bed types, do not trust what the website says.Avoid this place unless you’re okay being lied to and left with no resolution.
