This all-suite, European-style hotel is located in the area of Foggy Bottom, opposite the State Department and half way between the White House and Georgetown. It is close to links to local public transport, and an abundance of historical attractions.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in an 8-storey building with a lift and 230 rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee). Other services include a 24-hour security service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. Complimentary newspapers are available. To assist guests with their business and communication needs, the business centre offers a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) ensure optimal comfort. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Some of the wheelchair-friendly rooms have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

The sports and entertainment facilities at the hotel ensure that guests have plenty of activities to choose from during their stay. The pool complex promises pleasant and carefree swimming. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. After an eventful day, guests can work out and recharge in the gym.     Wonderful 6 night stay at the State Plaza Hotel as a solo traveler

    Absolutely wonderful. The location is close to the National Mall, Arlington National Cemetery, the Metro ( Foggy Bottom/George Washington University & Whole Foods) and Reagan National Airport. When I arrived early, I was given the offer of an upgrade at no additional charge. My suite was spacious , sparkling clean with a comfy bed and a kitchen. Housekeeping was amazing. My room was restocked every day with fresh linens, towels and water without asking. I particularly enjoyed reading the note on the bed table wishing me a comfortable night's sleep- I surely did. All the staff, Gerald and Kibron, were polite, helpful and professional. They quickly responded to my requests (i.e.extra blanket for this Floridian, directions, returning to my room to retrieve a forgotten item after checkout). But there is one staff who was exceptional and that was Zafor. When I needed directions such as riding the Metro, he gave specific directions on which Metro train to take and which side of the escalator the train is on to board. On another day when I was leaving the hotel with map in hand, Zafor said something like if I get lost and want some help, just call the hotel and we'll help you out. As a first time visitor who had already gotten lost in DC, that comment meant so much to me and made me feel so much more comfortable as I ventured out to enjoy the day even more. My six night stay was absolutely wonderful and I can highly recommend the State Plaza Hotel. *********

    Our stay started and ended with great interaction with all employees.The bed, the sheets and most importantly the pillows were the best in all of the hotels we've stayed in and we travel a lot!And finally, my husband dropped his cell phone down into the street storm drain when getting out of an uber. Tobias, the General Manager, called on the in-house engineer, Byron, to help. Byron removed the storm drain cover and reached in and retrieved the phone. As you can imagine, he was a life saver! (If you are reading this Tobias and Byron, thank you very much.)

    Perfect location, easy walk to Metro and National Mall. Quiet room even though looked out over busy road and contruction. Bed was SO comfy!The staff was absolutely amazing!!!! fixed the AC right away, willing and able to answer any questions, recommend walking routes and where to find places to eat. They even stored our travel bags B4 checkin and a after checkout since we had a late flight home. Incredibly nice-we highly recommend!Only negative is that there is no ice/water machine there.     Good hotel, but service could be improved. Very clean rooms, even though some of the furniture is pretty old. Excellent location.     Great affordable place and good experience

    We went for a couple of days and the location is great to visit walking distance the cherry blossom trees. I'm terms of price was decent. The rooms are in good shape but looks a little bit old. However the bathroom were nice. All employees were very nice and helpful. The first day Endi was very helpful and explain to me everything. He was able to provide an excellent service. The atmosphere was good in general and we felt safe. You can hear a little bit the other rooms but not bad experience. We can recommend staying in this hotel.
