    Nicely remodeled, a couple of drawbacks

    Recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Washington, and it was a great overall experience. The hotel boasts a full remodel done to perfection—complete bathroom replacements, fresh furniture, and new carpeting throughout the bedrooms, giving it a cozy, warm feel.A few drawbacks to note: the breakfast area and lobby felt small, and the parking lot was full upon arrival. The color scheme was a bit garish for my taste, though the remodel quality was impressive.The team did a terrific job on the renovation, and the breakfast attendant was a standout—super sweet and kind, even checking to confirm the breakfast potatoes were gluten-free (they were!). For a freshly updated stay in Washington, PA, this is a solid pick. I look forward to returning.

    Two separate nights at the Hamtpton Inn

    Clean, reasonably quite, nice, helpful staff (but beware of the 24 hours candy counter--lots of calories are easily available.) Breakfast includes oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, bagels, etc. The area is busy with several nearby malls. There are a few reasonably priced restuarants within waking distance. Gas stations nearby.

    We stopped here on our way to Pittsburgh to ride the Great Allegheny Passage. It seemed like a safe enough place to leave our bicycle in the vehicle overnight. We did have one issue with the toilet, but the night attendant helped us immediately. Breakfast was OK.

    Nothing fantastic about this, but a couple of disappointing things. First, I went to use the pool after a long work day and it was rented out to a swim school and I was told I couldn’t use it. Apparently it’s a weekly thing so why wasn’t it disclosed on the website when booking? The second was they’re were doing maintenance in the elevator during a busy time and not in the middle of the night when no one needed to use it? I was on the 4th floor and met an elderly couple walking down for the 5th floor with much difficulty. Not very good management.

    Over and Above Missing Jacket Search

    Madonna, who works at the Reception Desk athe the Hampton Inn in Washington, PA, went over and beyond in assisting me to find a jacket that I might have left in my hotel room at check out. Unfortunately it was not there, but at this point I was grasping at straws to locate where I left it while on a trip several weeks ago. Sho looked in one place, than asked for my phone number so that she could check a few other spots. A bit later she called to let meknow that she couldn't find it. I remember Madonna from my 2 night stay as an effecient, but friendly face at the desk. I was happy when she was who answered my call when I contacted the hotel several weeks lates.
