    10/10 would not stay again

    rating25 Sept 2026

This hotel was the prize we received for surviving a timeshare sales presentation. Apparently, the real prize was learning that the timeshare business model is basically an MLM with nicer brochures.First, booking this trip took my partner and me five hours. Five. Hours. The technology used by Resort Vacation Certificates appears to have been designed by Christopher Columbus himself. If you’re looking for a modern booking experience, you’ll want to bring patience, snacks, and possibly a carrier pigeon.Once we finally booked, we discovered you can’t even purchase extra nights at the resort. Because apparently they already had enough customers suffering. The hotel staff were actually friendly and helpful, so credit where it’s due. Unfortunately, the room looked like housekeeping had simply driven past it and waved.Hair in the bathtub. A brown streak on the towel. Handprints all over the mirror. Sheets rough enough to exfoliate your skin. And when I dropped my phone next to the bed, I discovered about an inch of dust underneath it.There was also a chunk of plaster/debris on the floor that remained there for our entire six-day stay. At that point, I assume it had officially become a permanent fixture. The room was tiny, poorly designed, and so cramped we could barely open a suitcase.Overall, the staff were nice, but the cleanliness was unacceptable, the room was dated and cramped, and the booking process was an absolute nightmare.Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. Would I participate in another timeshare certificate program? I’d rather get a root canal.

    An "OK" stay

    rating20 Sept 2026

The absolute worst part of the stay was being charged for not attending an owner's meeting when we were told we weren't going to have to do that. This was a "reimbursement" trip for fees paid using actual timeshare points in Daytona in May 2025, at which time an owner's meetng was attended. It should not have been required for this stay as this wasn't a scheduled stay utilizing timeshare points. The aggressive nature of the sales staff at the owner's meetings is very offputting, which is concerning and unappreciated. I wouldn't recommend a timeshare to anyone, if this is the standard for such meetings. However, Dexter, whom we spoke with upon arrival to Kingsgate when checking in, was extremely friendly and helpful with property and area information (beaches, restaurants, etc.). Now, onto the actual stay at Kingsgate. We were extremely disappointed in the qualify of food at Sly Clyde's -- a poolside restaurant on the property. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and requested NO lettuce, and I was told lettuce didn't come on the wrap -- in fact, it does. It was MOSTLY lettuce, buffalo sauce, and cheese -- very little chicken. We also ordered hamburger sliders. The meat on each turned out to be about the size of a half dollar at best, and were either very hard or cold, or both. We also ordered sides of "fresh" fruit, which all tasted like canteloupe only. Overall, a waste of $28, which was super expensive for the food options offered and certainly based on quality. As for the unit...luckily, our unit had been remodeled, but the overall building inside could use an upgrade. Each unit could also use a luggage rack, especially given how small the unit is (one bedroom). We also had to request a shower curtain, which we did promptly receive, so that was a plus. More towels and washcloths are always appreciated, so an increase in having that rather than having to reqeust them would be beneficial. The "separate" adult pool isn't really separate from the main pool -- it's basically just on the other side of a few bushes and a fence. It would've been nice to have a separate area to relax. There are areas of the property, similiar to Patriot's Place, which could benefit from remodeling, updades, or renovating. I would expect Wyndham properties to reflect what the name has historically represented.

    Disappointed!!!

    rating05 Sept 2026

This was my second time at this resort. My first visit was in April of 2023 with my immediate family, we had a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo. No issues on that trip. Now for this trip. My partner had never been to Williamsburg or the surrounding areas. We stayed in a one bedroom condo. I was very disappointed this particular condo seemed a little dated. The bed was not as comfortable as I remember on my previous trip. The noise level was over the top, we could hear the people over top of us with their kids, we could clearly hear all conversations, the couple that was next door to us had a bunch of people over the one evening, they were so loud and obnoxious. It was so bad I wanted to LEAVE. Upon arrival we had at best less then half a roll of toilet paper on the holder. Looked under the sink vanity and when I went to grab the new roll of toilet paper imagine my surprise to find the entire roll of toilet paper in its paper wrapper had obviously been dropped in the toilet at one point and put back under the sink . The wrapper was brown with fecal matter on it. It stunk and so did under the sink. How this got missed by the cleaning service is beyond me. Not to mention upon arrival , they charge you an additional fee of 45 bucks per day for the use of the recreational facilities. They asked us if we would be interested in THE TIMESHARE PRESENTATION and I quickly said NO bc we were there to relax after a death in our family. We were unable to make use of the pools at all bc of overcrowding and no where to sit. Which was very disappointing. Not even the separate COUPLES ONLY POOL. I don't think I'd stay here again, there are other options in Williamsburg.
