  The first room they put us in smelled as if something had died. Front desk would not answer or pickup so had to go down in person. The second room we tried was a bit better but still smelled off - perhaps mold? Every time the AC unit came on the odor took a turn for the worse. I literally packed up and left - could not stay there.   Worst experience at Westgate vacation Williamsburg, VA

  We recently had worst experience in our lifetime at Westgate vacation.We booked through the website and when we arrived at the Williamsburg location we were told that they were overbooked at the reception. We were told that we would stay at a shady place. We had no choice but to stay as if we were to book a hotel right that moment it would have costed us a fortune. So we stayed at another place that they asked us to. Now on the day of presentation, the manager named Valerie Nava was very rude and mean when we asked why they overboooked and asked us to stay at another shady place. She gave us misinformation that we were asked to stay because we had not purchased their time share!! Really!! That is not true. We had booked a timeshare in the past and we had stayed on the property. I would recommend staying away from booking a place at Westgate property in Williamsburg, VA for sure.Thank you.

  Go Somewhere Else

  The advertized King room was tiny and dark. It looked nothing like the pictures. The carpet was filthy. When I lifted my foot from the side of the bed, my foot touched the wall. The closet fit Hobbits, an half ironing board, iron, hair dryer, safe and suitcase holder but not a coat or dress. The walls were paper thin and there were people next to us. We could hear each other. There were plenty of rooms so it must have been a staffing issue.The bathroom's toilet paper hanger was broken. I texted them because I did not want to be charged. They apologized and asked if I needed more towels. (?)The bathroom had no fan nor screens for the window. It fogged up in seconds. There was no accessable paper unless you fetched kleenex from the tissue box. There was no storage in the bathroom, because it was tiny, for toothbrushes or other toiletries. Everything had to be kept stacked in the bags in the tiny room.There is a gap between the wall and the glass shower wall inthe bathroom that spewed water onto the floor when used. The shower door opened into the wet area, dripping more water. It is a fall hazard. All the electrical outlets throughout the room were loose. The phone charger hung off outlet, which was an electrical danger. The computer charger fell out of the wall. The internet was spotty, at best. There was a lot of buffering.The tiny refrigerator had a useless freezer area covered in frost.My 22 pound dog cost $171 to stay there, which is high. He travels with us everywhere so we thought the hotel would have an area for him outside. There was nothing. No goodies, bags or bed unlike other hotels. There was no outside trash for his poop bags. We had to leave them on the outside window sill until we left.It rained while we were there so there was nothing to do. All activities at the hotel are outdoors. When we arrived, we asked the person at the front desk about helping us with supper, they told us to call ourselves. Do not expect any concierge service.You have been advised.   Definitely NOT a "resort"

  Definitely Not a "resort"Room had spiders and my husband said the carpet was dirty. The room was totally small and the bathroom was even smaller/smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen!!!! The : furniture needs replaced,, old door locks resulted in locking us out..Summary: Don't advertise this as a "resort" when it is nothing more than an old old motel.   Will not accommodate reservation changes

  Booked through a 3rd party and needed reservation changes for an additional party 24 hrs out. Corporate and local management pointed the finger at 3rd party booking, 3rd party booking pointed the finger at local Westgate and corporate. Even though rooms were available, Westgate refused to accommodate. The manager, Tony, was indignant and hung up on me.
