The hotel is the 4-diamond hotel located in Yosemite National Park on the floor of Yosemite Valley. This National Historic Landmark opened in 1927 and was designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood who designed lodges at other national parks of the west.

The hotel has a lift and features 123 rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests of the hotel are welcome to relax in the garden. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Historic Hotel in Beautiful Setting, Somewhat Worn Down

This is a historic hotel located perfectly in the valley and central to all the hikes. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired and worn down. The green spaces outside are bald with patches of dirt and no grass, the outdoor cushions are dirty and many chairs don't have cushions. The food was decent in the pub and I would skip the only formal and expensive prix fixed dinner.We loved the park and hikes. If you stay here, do so knowing you are paying for the convenience of staying inside the park and not for a luxury experience. It's expensive and the value is about location and a step back in history, more than anything else.

Ahwahanee Lodge Stay

Love this hotel! Absolutely in the best location in the valley. Lots of historic significance here since this lodge was completed back in 1927. Best to request the Half Dome view rooms when booking a reservation. The lodge is not the least expensive place to stay but it is perfectly situated with easy walking paths to the Yosemite Valley welcome center, the base of Half Dome and other leisurely hikes around the area.

Clutch service from “Luke” the waiter, spoof of The Office character with equally bad skills!

We paid $250 for the 5 course meal at the restaurant there and the waiter “Ed/Evan” who we called Luke from the office never asked us what we wanted, of the 5 or 7 course options, never checked if we wanted the vegetarian option. Never asked if we wanted the pairing of wines that accompany courses or anything to drink for that matter. My husband two courses in asked if we could order drinks and he brought his and forgot mine and when I asked about my drink, he simply said “oh I never put it in, what did you want again?” We never got bread, and then when we commiserated with neighboring tables one patron got up to o complain to the manager and he came as well, and we still couldn’t pay and get out of there and after 2.5 hours of this “service” we walked toward the door where “Luke” followed so we could pay and I had handed Omar $20 because he was great filling water, clearing plates, and very attentive, and likely his tips suffered from the others poor care. Please don’t pay for this, eat at the bar or the pizza stop in Curry Village instead!
