OK for a one night stay only.

I've stayed in 3-4 Radisson Blu's in other places, so I didn't hesitate to book this hotel. However, I didn't realize that Radisson and Radisson Blu have completely different standards.Check-in was fast and friendly, but issues cropped up when we got to our room. There was a musty smell, and we quickly realized that it was coming from the air conditioner, it was filthy. The hotel was responsive and sent someone to clean it while we were out sightseeing. Unfortunately, the person who cleaned the unit didn't cover the bed, or clean up, so the bed was covered in dirt when we returned. Housekeeping showed up right away to change the sheets.Pros: The front desk staff is friendly, and the housekeeping was responsive. The location is also very nice, and we saw lots of people using the pool.Cons: The bathroom in our room is tired, and the workmanship is shockingly poor. Think misaligned, loose fixtures, cracked tiles. The hotel food isn't great, I'd recommend eating in one of the excellent restaurants or coffee shops in town.

    Dissapointing

The location is good in the centre of town. The rooms are nice apart from the bathroom. The indoor pool and outdoor pool are relatively nice albeit a bit out of date and unclean and mouldy in places.I felt dissapointed that water wasn't provided in the room and they charge when you ask for it. The staff don't have good English so communication isn't great. The bathroom was dirty and indeed we found a cockroach. The tap was mouldy with hairs. While the pools are nice, they are not clearly signposted (particularly the indoor pool) and you need to go to reception for towels and go through a maze. They are also a bit lacking in cleanliness and changing facilities and the sauna wasn't very hot. Needs a big upgrade and not worth the price. Stay in a cute smaller place instead without a pool.

    Corruption

The management of this hotel is very unethical. Please exercise caution when booking here. I had a confirmed reservation, and several days after the confirmation the hotel contacted me to say they wanted to increase the price of the room. When I refused they cancelled the reservation. I attempted to rectify this with their customer service, but they were not receptive.

    Great stay!!!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in April. We received warm and welcoming greeting from reception when we arrived. We arrived early and asked if we could check in and they checked and managed to find us a room that was ready. I need to mention that Lucia and Juan were friendly and gave excellent service. The room was clean and bed very comfortable! Great view of the river and swimming pool! Breakfast had a good selection! Hotel is a short walk to the historical square and close to shops and restaurants Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel!

    Best part was leaving

Firstly, anyone who has given this hotel 5* reviews recently must have very low expectations of a hotel. This establishment is barely scraping a 3*. Unsure why Radisson has its name to this. I think they need an inspection rapidly. Check in wasn’t very warm from the young lady on reception. No hello, she just said ‘passports’ then told us where to find our room. Welcome to Uruguay!!! The Room smelled like stale urine. It was so tired, scuff marks on walls and furnishings dated and ready to scrap. The Bathroom bin needs binning itself, disgusting. No bottled drinking water is provided. You must pay for it. The tv and sockets did not work. Come on, we’re not in a third world country!!! Or would you have us think it is?! First floor corridor smells bad of chlorine from the indoor pool. No active staff present. We Went to reception twice to ask about having some light food and a drink. Again reception staff seemed to not care and just waved and pointed towards the restaurant. There is no food between 4-8pm (is this hotel in the dark ages?). We eventually Found a man who seemed to mentally take 5 minutes to register that we were hotel guests wanting a drink. What a bizarre set up. It felt like we were an inconvenience. They are Certainly missing a trick here not having waiter service for extra revenue around the busy pool. Everywhere is just tired and not maintained. I would not recommend this hotel and glad we only had a short stay. We spent as much time as we physically could out of the hotel. Spend just a bit more and stay in Charco Hotel, we ate there and wish we’d seen this exquisite place :-( The breakfast wasn’t as bad as some reviews have stated. Basic but not bad. One man on checkout was nice. All in all, just stay elsewhere, it’s so bad.
