Situated in Montevideo’s new business centre, just 10 minutes from the centre and Port of Montevideo and around 300 m from Montevideo’s shopping district. Restaurants, bars/pubs and Puerto del Buceo’s tourist centre are about 500 m from the hotel and a disco or club is around a 15-minute ride by public transport away. A public bus stop can be found approximately 50 m from the hotel and Tres Cruces station is around 4 km away. The Rio de la Plata river is about a 5-minute walk away, De los Aliados park around a 10-minute walk from the hotel and Playa Pocitos beach about a 30-minute walk away. Estadio Centenario and Punta Carretas shopping districts are both about a 15-minute journey by public transport from the hotel and Ciudad Vieja is about a 15-minute drive away. The hotel is 15 minutes from Carrasco International Airport.

The hotel has 71 rooms, including 10 junior suites, suites and 59 double rooms, which are located on 12 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. The staff are very attentive. The receptionist assisted us with everything we needed: car rental, restaurant recommendations, and a SIM card.The pool is very pleasant, and there is also a gym and a sauna—small, but good enough. Nice person at Reception. Nice gesture giving us a mini pan dulce, it being Christmas Eve.However, as soon as we got to our floor, and saw pipes running the length of the wall near the ceiling, we could tell something was "off." The room itself (we had reserved and paid for an upgraded SUPERIOR room) was average, not IMHO "superior" at all. The bed was comfortable and clean. But the bathroom was a totally different story.The top of the toilet tank was cracked. The sink was cracked. And OMG, worst of all, when we turned on the faucet, the odor that came up from the sink's drain was absolutely NOXIOUS! Like a sewer! My husband and I brushed our teeth with bottled water and were not going to take any chances with the shower. So we didn't. Thank goodness, it was only for one night. I can only imagine what a "standard" room must be like!!! This place needs some upgrading. We won't be booking there again.I have written to their Management and have requested a reimbursement.
