Started our stay here for our 35th anniversary and cut it short midway. Room was not well maintained; a portable dehumidifier and wall-mounted mini-split was their AC, which means you had a dehumidifier buzzing away all night while the AC blew it’s cool air onto your face while you tried to sleep. We found hair in the bed between the sheets, in our “clean” towels, and in other various places in the room, and not tiny hairs either but weave-like chunks. The seaweed (red sargassum) was unbearable and piled on the beach about knee-deep, which rendered the beach useless and smelly. The pool was full of trash and dead insects, and the staff was very unenthusiastic about doing anything to clean and/or maintain the facility. Everyone was nice, but not very motivated. The ocean looked pretty beyond the seaweed, so I’m confident there is potential for this property to be very nice, but the lackadaisical effort of the staff let you know there was little chance of this happening right now.

Room for Improvement
21 Jun 2026
Carina Bay All-Inclusive Resort & Casino has some strengths, but there are also areas that need improvement. The standout feature of the resort is the service. The staff was consistently friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which made the stay more enjoyable. The location is beautiful, offering easy access to the water and scenic views. However, the rooms could use some updating and better maintenance. While they were functional, they didn’t quite meet the expectations of what many travelers might expect from an all-inclusive resort experience.Overall, I enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and appreciated the location, but improvements to the accommodations would significantly enhance the guest experience. With some investment in the rooms and facilities, this property has the potential to be much stronger.

Louisa made it better!

I want to first shout-out Louisa aka "Juicy" who was hands down the best bartender we had while we were there. No matter how busy it was, she was on her "A-game" and doubled as the trip knowledge bank, she seemed to have all the knowledge to give which was vera much appreciated. The rooms were clean, comfortable and provided what was seen in the pictures, thankfully!Location was not the best. Although excursions and such as highly advertised, nothing is actually close to this location. This is where problems arose. Front desk staff verbalized "the shuttle can take you". Along with that statement, these are the times the shuttle will run. That was the case upon boarding the shuttle to the beach. Turns out this was a courtesy only because this season brought tons of dead seaweed to the shore which inhibited our ability to enjoy the beach. Being as how this is a natural occurrence, you can't be upset about that. This turned out to be why shuttles were provided to another beach. However, the term, the shuttle van take you was continuously used...Turns out you have to ask the right questions because only the first trip was a shuttle and those same drivers after that should have been referred to as the actual taxi service of $25-30/pp that they actually were. Unfortunately you are not told this until they arrive at your destination! Paying is not the complaint but misleading amd improper communication is. Reach out to transportation services before you arrive. Let your driver from the airport be yoir driver for your whole trip or rent a vehicle (knowing the roads are opposite of the states).Food was decent, nothing amazing or horrible. The Marketplace waitresses/attendees were extremely attentive. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the names of our 2 baristas in the coffee shop but they were super sweet and went above and beyond just making coffee and mimosas.Honestly the only staff I encountered that was not attentive was the front desk. Quite often they couldn't be found, seemed bothered by questions (like you should know the answer), poorly communicated and only seemed welcoming at the initial check-in.I would highly recommend retraining of staff that are meant to be the face of the resort in the areas of service and communication. Additionally, clear advertisement of contracted taxi services vs free shuttles would lessen guest confusion.

Amazing time at Divi! The staff makes this resort. Louisa, Sekayi, and Takiyah at the pool bar are so sweet, fun and attentive. They also make amazing painkillers, green tea shots and quesadillas. We will be back to see them for sure!
