Beautiful pool area

My husband and I stayed at Wyndham Tashkent for eight days during our summer holidays in Central Asia. We visited four of the Stan countries on this trip. We are very satisfied with the hotel. The breakfast was very good with several healthy options. The omelets were made to perfection by a lovely lady. We love fruit and there were many kinds of exotic fruits to choose. The waiters at the breakfast were polite and very attentive. They served coffee and took away the garbage quickly. The personnel in the front desk were helpful and very polite. Their English was quite well. The bell boys were very polite, kind and very helpful. They chatted with us and were attentive. We used the gym every day. It was large and very clean. The equipment was not the newest but worked very well. The ladies cleaned the gym and the wardrobes constantly. That was nice. The WiFi worked very well all over the hotel and also in the gym. We appreciated that since my husband wants to play chess online while biking and I follow several yoga lessons online. I tried a loomi massage once and it was very nice. The room was fine and had a sofa and desk but the bed was too hard for my taste. I got back pain after the first night. But luckily they provided several duvets that I put on top of the mattress. That helped. In the bathroom we missed a shelf to put our things on and we think the shower curtain of plastic was a bit unhygienic. To be a five star hotel it seemed a bit worn down and would need some renovation and modernization we think. The indoor pool was being renovated while we were there. The outdoor pool area was fantastic.the main reason that we chose this hotel. A large pool and sunbeds all around. We appreciate that there were several water filling stations in the gym and in the changing room area. That way we could reduce the amount of plastic bottles and refill our bottles often. We had lunch by the pool a few times and ate at the restaurant twice. Once when they showed the football match between Norway and Brazil in the middle of the night. We appreciated to see the game (that Norway won by the way) on a large screen in their restaurant together with other guests. We can recommend this hotel and hope that they will renovate some parts of it soon. Not what is described on website. Check ages of children if taking them as they will probably charge them as adult rate. Ensure you tell them not having a full breakfast if you just have a coffee as they willCharge full $ rate if they can. A Solid 4 Star Stay

A very solid 4 to 4.5 star stay.This is the usual Tashkent stay hotel for Adventures Abroad tour groups and I can see why AA routinely books this place.In a good location for visitors.The room safe though was not securely attached in room 122, why?The std room was a bit small for world travelers with 2 large suitcases but 1 suitcase stand was appreciated. Typical UZB very firm mattress and nice thick pillows; which are both our preference.The bathroom looked more modern than the rest of the room and was quite practical; even with the high step over bath edge. Good water pressure and lots of hot water.Good in room wi-fi.Lots of traffic noise to any room facing the two busy main roads IF you want a window open overnight for fresh air. Despite turning the air con / heating off, the room was always at approx 22 C; which made the continental quilt too hot.Lots of staff about.The buffet breakfast was very good over our 3 night stay.We also enjoyed the simplicity of dining in for 2 evening meals in the restaurant, though there is a 20% service charge added on all costs. Nice food overall. First time to Tashkent and chose hotel for its location close to parks nearby.Hotel is nice and room is clean and spacious for a restful layover.In-room service is nice with tasty meal.Room amenities are complete and great. This facility is staffed by some great employees at the front desk, in the restaurants ... throughout their areas of service. English was clearly spoken. Everything was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood offers good places to eat, nearby banking, parks, the post office, access to the subway, etc. If there is anything lacking, it's sufficient parking around the building.
