Overall good, but much to much People from Korea. Wich is not bad! But these tourist are different in getting in contact with other guests. This resort not really suitable for vegetarian, even you have a "vegan" menu,,,,but who wants to eat "bowls" in holiday? And even they have an Indian restaurant, but only about 10%(!!!) vegetarian choices...

A really good stay and excellent staff. The room was really good, with air conditioner. They planed the perfect trip for us to see the Halong bay. And it is great to have someone who speaks a really good English. Very friendly staff. Excellent stay!

Was not the best hotel stay I have stayed in worse. Room a little worn and old bathroom tiles a bit dirty. Just not nice. Safe never worked in the room, called the lobby but they sent another. Not sure I would re visit

Horrible experience and should not be supported (very detailed)

As we arrived in Hanoi our taxi driver was supposed to drop us of at the "Box Hotel". He started calling people while we were driving to our destination. As we arrived we were already expected by a man who called himself "Tom", he immediately told us that one of our rooms was unfortunately broken, because the electricity wasn't working. He told us that he was working for the "Box Hotel" and knew that we had 2 rooms for 4 person and he didn't want to separate us. He didn't want us to get out of the car and told the taxi-driver he should drive to the Ngoc Mai Hotel (or here by called the Hanoi Four Season Hotel, or on my picture the Ngoc Mai Hostel). As we arrived at the so called Hotel we checked into our rooms, which are nothing like on their homepage of course. Since we were exhausted from the trip we wanted to grab something to eat. As we were waiting for two of our friends the manager of the hotel started asking questions about our stay. We told him that we wanted to go to SAPA the next day and that we also expect our last night to be in the "Box Hotel" and not this hotel. He of course said "yes, yes" and continued asking questions about our stay in Hanoi. As we talked he started writing all of the dates down and looking up tours for us, which we never asked for. He wrote a complete schedule of our stay in Vietnam. After he was finished he expected us to pay about 200$ for a hole list of trips we never asked for or wanted. He started getting angry when we told him, that we didn't want any of these tours expect the night-bus ticket and the halong bay on our last day. He got really pushy when we told him that we didn't want the day-trip through Hanoi. The next morning we got two calls (waking us up at 8am) angrily asking when we would be down for breakfast. The breakfast was ridicules, the coffee was served in a dirty glass and the milk was sour. We decided to grab breakfast at a restaurant and as we were just about to leave the manager kept asking where we were going and when we would be back. The same situation happened two hours later when we checked out and decided to experience Hanoi for ourself, again he asked where we were going and when we would be back, since he offered us to leave our luggage there we didn't really think of anything bad. Back from our trip he wanted to take a shower (since he offered us a day earlier) and grab our luggage. We then noticed that some of our money was missing and someone had gone through our stuff. We had Bath (Thai-money) which was missing and actually well hidden. Everything came to us when we actually got back from our trip in Sapa, when we decided to go directly to the Box Hotel. The staff was totally overstrained and didn't know what we were talking about. At the end we found out that we were trapped by this Tom-guy who was in cooperation with this Hotel. We payed for the Hotel in advance so, the Ngoc Mai Hotels intention was to get money by selling a lot of trips. There were many other incidence which had happened during our stay, but I wanted to write down all the main points because this kind of Hotel and this staff should not be supported in any kind of way. We are not naiv tourist, we knew what was happening, but we were the only guests and it is kind of scary being in a foreign country when you don't know the people well.
