  Decent budget option, but room size and lack of soundproofing let it down

  We had booked their Superior Double Room for 3 nights. While the staff was very warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, the room was unfortunately too small for us. It didn’t have any windows and the soundproofing wasn’t very good, which meant that we could hear people talking even in the room next door.They did have decent variety in the breakfast buffet, so that’s something that you probably won’t have a problem with.If you go for this hotel, maybe try booking a higher category of room.

  Very impressive reception area and we were greeted with a refreshing hot tea and staff were lovely. We had a room on the 8th floor. The room was quite small but had everything we needed although it was a bit tired looking and the shower leaked all over the floor which resulted in me slipping over and hurting myself! The breakfast was ok, nothing special and the service was poor. We ate there and I had a steak which was lovely but once again some of the staff were slow and non attentive and constantly asking our room number. It was like they didn’t trust you!   Boutique hotel in a great location in District 1, well equipped bedrooms, free afternoon tea, amazing breakfast. Everything was great, staff very friendly and helpful in particular Amelia who served us at the evening meal and breakfast.   We booked here because we previously had a great experience with a similar Indochine-style hotel in District 1, and this property seemed comparable. The Odys, however, turned out to be one step up, and we were genuinely happy to have found it.The hotel staff were outstanding — friendly, articulate, and consistently courteous. We were especially appreciative of Thomas, Ethan, Kevin, and Minh Anh. Our housekeeper Thúy was exceptional; after just one day, she already knew our preferences and daily habits, which made us feel very well cared for.It’s evident that the owners and management truly care about their hotel. The breakfast and afternoon tea were excellent, the property is beautifully decorated, and everything was immaculately clean. Water pressure and Wi-Fi were both very good. There are so many thoughtful extras at The Odys — we genuinely and highly recommend this hotel.The only hiccup we experienced was unrelated to the hotel itself. After our initial stay, we booked a second week two weeks later but needed to modify the dates due to changes in our travel plans. Booking.com confirmed more than a week in advance that the modification was approved. Subsequently, someone claiming to be from the hotel contacted us via WhatsApp requesting credit card details and threatening cancellation. Booking.com specifically advised us not to provide credit card information over WhatsApp. We believe this message was a phishing scam from someone unrelated to The Odys.Overall, our experience at The Odys was excellent, and we would happily stay here again.
