    A mixed bag

    rating14 Jan 2019

First of, the good things: The rooms in this hotel are really nice and pretty new. Lovely bed, and probably the nicest looking bathroom I have seen in a 3 star hotel in Asia. It also had a really wel stocked minibar, big tv, good internet and a great aircon. The bad: It says no smoking in the room, though the sign is placed next to the ashtray. Smoke from the lobby (which also have a no smoking sign next to an ashtray) was pulled into the room when the bathroom fan was on. There were also a slightly funky smell in the room and the bathroom. This together with a bunch of ants in the bathroom made it not very pleasant. The breakfast was a tragedy. One day we got an underfried egg and a baguette, without butter, and the other we had a noodle soup that didn't taste anything. And in case you were wondering; No you can't have both orange juice and coffee, you have to choose one.Location is interresting. We loved it, but dont expect to find a lot of bars around, and be prepared to struggle when ordering food if you don't speak vietnamese. We managed using Google Translate, some hand signs and a lot of smiles. We hardly saw any western tourists in the area which for us was great.

Pleasant 1st Stopover of Mekong Delta Tour

    rating23 Dec 2017

1st stop of my family tour of the Mekong Delta by road. Touched down at HCMC in the late evening & booked Valentine for the night. It's near the bus station where we would take an aircon bus to Ben Tre the following morning.Nice hotel near Chinatown where plenty of good food even late at night. Room was spacious & comfortable. Served vietnamese beef/pork noodles or eggs & baguette for breakfast. Value for $.The lady at the Hotel reception was friendly & helpful, and speak fluent mandarin.

    Decent no-frills stay

    rating23 Dec 2017

Hotel is situated in a small alley and we couldn't find it when we arrived at night. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which had 2 single beds although each bed was big enough to my kid and me comfortably. The room had a faint cigarette smell -- there were ashtrays in the room (and hotel lobby too). For breakfast, you could choose baguette with eggs or Vietnamese pho (beef or pork, soup or dry).

    2 star hotel impressive

    rating24 Jan 2015

Staffs were able to communicate in simple English. one even could speak Chinese with me. great. stayed 4 nights there.2 in the VIP and $1.5mil dong. with the Jacuzzi beside your bed. wow. 2 nights went into the cheapest room at $700k dong. very impressive too on the design and it looks new to me. noise insulation was very bad. aircon auto off.. sometimes have mosquitoes around. breakfast was almost the same everyday and I couldn't eat beef and got worse for me. eat bread everymorning. But it was served to your room! wow. location no good but I had a bike so no issue. internet connection not very good but still able to struggle throu. lol

    In no man's land

    rating03 Aug 2014

I got the feeling that this hotel was aiming more for Vietnamese customers rather than Western guests. The place is located in a boring district that holds little to no value for most visitors, and the staff doesn't speak English very well. They also insisted on keeping our passports until we checked out the next day, which never happened any other place in Vietnam. We stayed here for one night because we were taking the bus to Ben Tre the next morning (the bus station is right around the corner). For this, the hotel served its purpose, and the rooms were quite nice and clean. Breakfast was not included, but since we found no good places around to eat we ate at the hotel. Which meant that we were served rather bland noodles in the reception area. Overall, a quite weird stay, though the hotel in itself is quite decent. I would never stay here as a tourist in Saigon though, and when we got back from the Mekong Delta we stayed more centrally located for just a few dollars more.
