Last Minute Holidays to Maldives in February

Resorts with spare inventory in February tend to be the quickest to confirm at short notice, and each brings a different balance of transfer time and seclusion.

• Ari Atoll: Ari Atoll is one of the most visited atolls, with many resorts reached by speedboat or seaplane from Malé and strong opportunities for diving and whale shark encounters. February conditions in the dry season favour calm water for boat trips, which makes this atoll a practical choice for marine-focused guests. Resort choice here is wide, so late availability is usually better than at smaller properties. Ari combines convenient access with excellent marine life for those who value a strong reef experience. • Hulhumalé: Hulhumalé is a reclaimed island linked to Malé by causeway, which makes it the shortest transfer option of any stay on this list. Its residential and commercial setting is less resort-like than a private island, so it suits travellers who want city convenience alongside a beach break. We often recommend it for late bookings because stays here are easy to organise on short notice and your airport journey is straightforward. Expect a more urban feel rather than overwater villas. • Bandos Island Resort: Bandos sits a short boat ride from Malé and is one of the most established resort islands near the capital, with a wide range of room categories and dining options. Its proximity keeps transfer time low, which matters if your February flight lands late or you have limited days to spend. The trade-off is a busier resort atmosphere than the remote atolls offer. For a convenient first-time stay with a broad choice of facilities, we find it a dependable late booking. It is exactly the brief our Maldives Family Holidays deals are built around.
• Baa Atoll: Baa Atoll is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the northern central Maldives and is known for manta ray encounters at Hanifaru Bay, where visits are regulated to protect the animals. Transfers are longer than those to atolls close to the capital, so the journey is part of the planning. We recommend Baa for guests who want a reef-focused stay and are willing to trade a longer transfer for a more distinctive marine experience. Confirm any manta visit arrangements through your resort before departure. It is exactly the brief our Maldives Luxury Holidays deals are built around.
• Addu Atoll: Addu Atoll is the southernmost atoll, linked by causeways across several islands and carrying a distinct WWII heritage that sets it apart from the resort-led atolls further north. Access is by domestic flight, so the transfer is the longest on this page and needs planning around your February flight times. Its larger local population gives a different feel from typical resort islands. We suggest Addu to travellers who want history and a more local character alongside beach time.
