  Great location and value. Clean and comfortable.

  There are 6 rooms and we're in #1 which was clean, had a comfortable king bed, and nicely decorated. It looks like all of the rooms were recently completed/renovated with glass and porcelain tiles, a generous closet with shelves to place cloths and there is a mini fridge and TV. It is very modern with a good sized bathroom and walk in shower. I think that the pictures on the website were accurate for showing how nice the rooms are. It is not manned at reception but it is secured by an outer door that we had a code too. This is a European room/AirBnB type place in the fact that it is a group of rooms in a building with other uses. Don't worry because the room is super nice and the value for the location and convenience is great. We felt safe walking back well after dark. We arranged a taxi from the airport through Starlight and the driver called the host who met us at the door and checked us in. (Same price as regular taxi or Uber). He carried my wife's bag up the stairs and was very friendly. A plus is that you can get a taxi or uber to your door here. If you stay inside the Palace, then you will be dragging luggage for blocks through narrow streets full of tourists. Dioclecian's Palace is 200 steps away and the Riva on the waterfront is about 3 minutes. Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute walk and a great place for breakfast and coffee 300 steps away. You are reading this review because you have never been to Split which is where I was a few months ago. Our host sent us a list of recommendations on WhatsApp which was very helpful and we had great pizza at one of his recommendations. Our host was also easy to reach on WhatsApp and responded right away to questions. Last thing. Great value and location for a fun time in Split. If you need a fancy hotel with elevators and room service, then you will pay 2-3 times more. For us seniors this is just what we needed for a fun visit. And take a get your guide walking tour your first day which will be the best 1.5 hours spent.

  Black stuff and dead centipedes coming out of the air conditioner. The faucet was so dirty I had to buy bottles water to brush my teeth with (I arrived at night so I didn't have water till the next day.) Old stained carpet smells like a dirty sponge, missing curtains, stained towels, hair all over the extra blanket. I think I paid around $138/night to stay here 🤡😭 I wouldn't stay here for free. Please don't stay here, it is not a good place for anyone. The last thing you want to do is spend your vacation looking for and moving to a last minute hotel that you can afford after paying for this place (my booking was non refundable.)

  We enjoyed our stay and had a comfortable nights sleep Pros: location is right at top of old town so easy to navigate and get everywhere. Bed was very comfy. Shower hot. Lovely toiletries. Housekeeping every day was brilliant. Rooms were soundproofed/thick walled so you couldn't hear the other guests or doors closing. Collecting the key/lock box was super easy. Cons: location wise for us, it was on a busy road, with buses and deliveries. So we personally had to keep the window closed at night due to noise, especially in the morning. We had the air con on instead.We could’ve done with two room cards, we only had one. Tips: we found the beach towels on the counter in the un-manned reception on the last day - we could’ve done with those before then. So look out for beach towels!

  The biggest recommendation!! We had a wonderful stay. The room is very close to the city center. The room is very big and clean. We wrote with Valentina on WhatsApp, and we got the best service. She responded very fast, even in the evening. We even got the opportunity to check out a bit later than 10 because our flight is late in the evening. Thanks to Valentina for the best service!

  I visit Split 2/3 times a year and have now stayed with Starlight 4 times, twice in each of their 2 locations. I could not recommend them more. Wonderful location, friendly staff and I have never seen cleanliness of such a high standard. The rooms have all you need - WiFi, fridge, safe, shower gel, shampoo, multiple plug sockets, etc. I’ll be back in May next year and will definitely be choosing Starlight again. I have seen a few comments on here regarding stairs; unfortunately, the majority of places to stay in Split will have at least one flight of stairs to apartments/hotels - this is something to bear in mind if you are less mobile. The staff helped me on my first visit as I had a very large case - I would reach out if you require assistance as the Starlight team could not do enough for you.
