Situated in Dahlem, the hotel enjoys exciting surroundings with charm, history and identity. Dahlem is home to three of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, including one of the most famous ethnological collections in the world. Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 3 suites and 183 double rooms. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and German-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a mini fridge. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking and golf are available. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, callisthenics and aerobics. A spa, a sauna and steam bath are available in the wellness area.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. The non-smoking restaurant provides high chairs for children.     This is not a good hotel to stay in when there is a conference on

    We have been using this hotel as a base for visiting family for a number of years. The standard has been generally ok but over time there have been some adverse changes with the latest being the WiFi provision which has now gone from what appeared to be a campus/hotel specific network with password to a general unsecured Berlin wide network.The big problem we encountered during our current 12 night stay is the impact of a rather large, noisy conference during the last few days which culminated last night in some form of party with loud music which went on until 2a.m. When we complained this morning we were firstly told that we should have complained to night staff at the time. Then the same receptionist told us that the conference activity was outside of their control and offered a free drink from the fridge in recompense. If out of their control then I don’t know what would have been achieved by getting dressed in the early hours of the morning and going down to reception.I appreciate that such conferences are probably the life blood of such a hotel but I would also have thought that a well run admin’ team would have looked to locate a couple staying for 12 days as far away from the conference action as they could.We will be exploring other hotel options in future.     Great if you visit Freie Universität

    The hotel is ideally located if you are visiting Freie Universität. Everything is clean and well-maintained, breakfast is adequate (not super-fancy, but it does the trick; some more fresh stuff like tomatoes and cucumbers would be nice).They offered a dinner buffet, but it would have been alongside conference guests and cost EUR 32 (!) - Dahlem is kind of a village, but you will likely want to find dinner there. Slept very well.The rooms have some quirks: I did not find the electrical outlets in the writing desk until I moved out - they are in a flap in the desk surface, covered by the telephone. The room has one of those annoying main electrical switches by inserting your key card, which is unfortunate if you want to charge your devices while for example going to breakfast - they don't give you a second key card. The WiFi is either eduroam (nice, but somehow did not work with Linux) or the hotel's own gateway that changes passwords every other day or so (those are printed on the back of your room card, but hardly readable because they somehow rub off, and they are covered by the room key, so I did not find them at first) - why change passwords?! The window opens with an electrical switch (in the bed panel on the window side), but takes forever to crank along.     This hotel was clean, and when I requested housecleaning or anything else they were responsive. The breakfasts were amazing! I wish there had been a couple of English speaking channels on TV but I also understood. I wish WiFi in all hotels was secured. I was able to walk to many places I loved easily or found public transportation near. I liked the way you could control all the lights from bed! Very cool! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend to fellow travelers.     The campus hotel + great location

    This is modern hotel located in the middle of campus - we have been there in August and there was plenty of green vegetation around the place. Nice indeed.The location is excellent if you want to visit Berlin with its attraction but the same time to avoid the noise and bustle of the big city: the metro station is literally 5 minutes of walk (about 30 minutes to the city centre then) and you can also enjoy some very nice and very local beer gardens.

    Pros: (1) hotel is clean and conveniently located next to the university; (2) breakfast is very nice with long hours; (3) room is spacious and bed comfortable. Cons: (1) Room smelled like sewer when I initially entered and while venting helped, the smell comes back; (2) showers are really hard to take as water temperature fluctuates from super cold to super hot without touching anythingIn conclusion: the rooms is fine and the staff is friendly. But, please, hire a plumbing company!
